Running feet. Running feet? I could hear it. It sounded as if everyone was running frantically. Not playfully in the slightest. I opened my groggy eyes. It was so blurry. I couldn't see anything clearly, nor vividly. Everyone was sideways? No... I was just laying on the ground for who knows why. I placed my sore, aching hand on the ground and pushed myself up onto my knees. I looked down at my hands to see a liquid running down the tips of my fingers, to the palms of my hands, then the ends of my arms. ...blood? Why...? "GET OUTTA HERE KID, IT'S NOT SAFE HERE!" a frantic dude was screaming at me as if something life-threatening was on the loose. Not safe, huh? What does he mean? When he said that, he was pulling his hair with a petrified expression plastered across his old, wrinkly face. He took off running after a few seconds of yelling in my face to hurry up. Everything kept fading to black and white, then normal again. ...Where am I? Then everything went black.Silence. That's all I heard. I opened my eyes and was greeted with a raggedy white room with rust across the walls. The paint was peeling off, giving it an abandoned look. I shivered as a cold wind gust came across me body. Oh. I was in bed. A bed with no blanket. I used my hands to help me sit up in the bed. I looked around the room and was confused. There was a window open, too. I guess that's where the cold wind gusts are coming from, huh? Actually, it was so cold, I could see my clouded, icy breath coming from my mouth as I was exhaling to cool down my body. It looked very dull outside. As I was examining the rusted room around me, I suddenly heard voices in the downstairs of the house. Oh yeah... My mom and my cousin. I got out of bed and started to go down the stairs. I finally reached the end of the stairs and took a good look around so I could examine my surroundings. "Oh, look... It's the meaningless life liver." My cousin spat at me in the most uninterested tone. His name was Hennet. "Shut up, Hennet. I'm not in the mood for your bull crap." I didn't like Hennet in the least bit... but I still looked up to him. He rolled his eyes at me and walked over to the table, where he sat down. My mom was just silently sitting at the old dusty table... silently. No muscles in her body were moving whatsoever. Her head was resting in the palm of her right hand. A blank stare and no feeling was seen inside her eyes. "...Mother." I said as a good morning greeting to her as I walked over to the table where I sat down across from Hennet."She doesn't wanna talk to you," Hennet's eyes shifted towards mine as his stern voice filled the room. "And nor does she wanna talk to me. She's been silent. But I can understand why she wouldn't wanna talk to a loser like you." "Shut up." I spat. He slammed his hands on the stable, and his chair went flying as he stood up all in one motion. "...Shut up?..." I looked at him, staying completely still. Not gonna lie, my body was so stiff from the fear he might hurt me like he always does. His eyes became more visible as he raised his head slowly to look at me. Everything was quiet for more than 5 seconds... then he swiftly and angrily reached his hand across the table, grabbed the collar of my shirt, lifted me out of my chair and over himself, and slammed me on to the ground super harshly behind him. I bounced as my body rolled a little bit further than he had thrown me, only for me to come to a halt by a wall that slammed against my back. I laid there for more seconds than I should have, then quickly got up being more aware of the vulnerable situation I was in. "You're weak," He said in a whispery, furious way. He snapped his head in the direction I was. I felt his anger from his stare all the way from across the room. "TOO weak... how could I ever be associated with you?!" He was gradually getting louder as he walked over to me. His steps soft, but soft in the way you knew he was pissed off.His hair only showing one angry eye staring at me. He wasted no time, and as soon as he got near me, he punch me straight in the face. I dodged his next attempted attack and managed to land a punch on him. It did nothing. He tried to punch me again, and I fell to the ground. "You're pathetic, Bella," his voice angrier than before. He stepped on my face. The bottom of his boot was on the side of my face, basically on the temples of my skull. "You'll never beat anyone in a fight. Hell, I bet the weakest person in the world would be able to beat you in a fight!" He said as his foot fell heavier on my skull. I felt like my skull was about to crack. "Pfft... worthless." He muttered to himself finally letting my head free, but kicking my head as he let up. I didn't waste a second to get up. I brushed off all the dirt and dust that was collecting on my clothes from the dirty floor. As I was in the middle of doing so, a huge roaring, ear-bleeding explosion sound filled the air. My mom immediately got up, ran to the window, and pressed both the palms of her hands on the glass like a kid looking at sweets in a store. Only...she didn't have a look of happiness on her face...no... she was terrified. Her breath quickened and began to gradually get heavier. "No..." I heard her mumble in the middle of two shaky breathes. "...They're coming," she said, terrified. "...THEY BROKE IT." I was confused by her words. Who broke what? "Broke wha-" "BE QUIET." she interrupted. Huh? I suddenly moved to the cold window and pressed my face up against it so I could get a good view of what was happening. People were running, screaming, and hollering, even evacuating??? I couldn't see what they were running from. I ran towards to door so I could go outside and see for myself. "STOP. YOU AREN'T GOING ANYWHERE, BELLA." My mom said trying to stop me. I didn't listen. I swiftly opened the door, and ran outside as quick as I could. I must've slung that door open too aggressively because I heard the whole house rattle. I ran so fast, the cold air felt like it was practically punching my face. The wind tangled my hair and made it look messier than it had been. It looks like a rats nest. I didn't even care. As I came to a halt, I slid a little bit forward as I leaned back so I wouldn't fall. My eyes widened at the sight in front of me. A slimy robotic rabbit was standing in front of me. It had mechanical spider legs, a rabbit head with red glowing eyes, black slime oozing from its mouth. Its fur was messed up, and it had a stinger as a tail. I was standing face to face with one of these ugly things. Then I saw a rock coming at me, and everything went black.
