2 years later

Lucy's POV

Two years. It had been two years since I made it back to fairy tail without the others. I wanted to say that nothing had changed, that fairy tail was still the number one guild that everyone loved but that would be lying. In truth everything had changed and nothing had stayed the same. Just as the others decided I became the fourth guild master of fairy tail. I tried my best to keep the guild together but a lot of people had left, either leaving guild life all together or going to a guild they thought was better. We had also lost the guild hall but not before I placed seals all around the basement to protect what was within it. Thankfully we managed to rent a hall on the outskirts of Magnolia. It was no way bear as big and was rather run down but we managed to clean it up. The number of requests that we got dwindled as well but any request that was sent to us I made sure it was completed on time no matter if I had to do it myself. I had also taken to modelling for witch weekly and sending in short stories to the magazine to earn my money for the guild.
"Hey Lucy, are you sure you want to go by yourself?" Bisca asked worriedly as she sat at one of the tables with a hand on her swollen stomach. Alsack and Bisca had gotten married last year and were now expecting their first child.
"I'm sure after all the Magic council asked me to come. Plus the others have gone on missions and Alsack needs to be here with you" I said getting up stretching. I had been working on paperwork so I was dressed in a pair of grey sweat pants, a light blue singlet, Natsu's vest and Gray's necklace, the last two items that I rarely took off.
"Okay but be careful you have only just gotten back from a mission" she worried looking at the bruises that covered my body.
"Don't worry I'll be fine, make sure you call me if anything happens. Loke" I called and the lion spirit appeared next to me.
"What can I do for you Princess? Just say the word and I will even give you the shirt off my back" He flirted making my lips twitch. One thing that hadn't changed was Loke's flirting which I was glad for.
"I'm heading to the magic council and I'm leaving you here for extra protection" I said. Other guilds had taken to attacking us lately making us have to defend ourselves.
"Permission to use force?" Loke asked, straightening up.
"Brutal force if attacked, just make sure they leave breathing" I said and he nodded. Turning I grabbed the paperwork and put it in my office before leaving the guild.

Arriving in Crocus, the capital of Fiore I was pulled up by a few fans that wanted me to sign their magazines but soon enough I arrived at the magic council.
"Name and reason for visit" a secretary said as I walked up to her.
"Lucy Heartfeila, master of fairy tail. I was summoned by Captain Lahar" I said my arms crossed.
"One moment" she fake smiled and gestured for me to take a seat to the side.
"Is that you Lucy?" A voice called out ten minutes later and I looked to see Dorenbolt there.
"Yeah, what's it been? Two years" I questioned standing up.
"Yeah two years, looks like being Master is suiting you" He smiled before gesturing for me to follow him.
"I guess you could say that being Master is good" I shrugged. We walked in silence after that until we came to an office that he knocked on before entering.
"Lahar, Lucy is here. She got held up by that secretary, you know the one that I told you was no good" Dorenbolt said.
"I am aware of what you said, please have a seat Lucy. There are a few things that we need to talk about" Lahar said, gesturing to the seat in front of his desk which I took.
"The first thing that I have to talk to you about is Jellal's escape from prison. We have discovered that he must have had help to get out," Lahar said. I knew what he meant right away, he was subtly suggesting that either myself or Fairy Tail had something to do with his escape.
"No matter my personal feelings for someone, I would not break them out of jail" I said, crossing my arms with a scowl.
"I was not saying that you did," Lahar started.
"We don't need to play this back and forth game. While I believe that Jellal should be free and not locked up, I do not make the laws and I'm not above them either" I sighed.
"I see, may I ask why you believe that Jellal shouldn't be punished for his crimes?" Lahar questioned and I looked at them both wondering if I should answer.
"From what I saw, felt and heard about the tower of heaven Jellal was being manipulated by an outside force. From a young age he had been kept captive and treated worse than anyone could ever imagine. During the Nirvana accident he didn't have his memories and when he got them back his only thoughts were getting rid of Nirvana and helping us as well. If you remember correctly he also let himself be captured with no struggle on his end even though we would have fought for him. It is my belief that Jellal has already paid for his crimes and that the magic council should be helping him adjust to a normal life instead of pushing the blame on him" I told them. What I had said was what I truly believed. There had been so many people hurt because of people that believed in Zeref, it made my heart hurt.
