chapter seven!

Once again, silence filled the room up quickly. Kokichi looked down at himself, starting to feel a little more embarrassed. "W-Well? Aren't you gonna say something?" Kokichi spat, keeping his head down.

"Do you want me to say something…?" Kaito asked quietly. "I mean… it's not that big of a deal, y'know? It's a good thing you told me, right? It's like you opened up or something, and- that's good!" Kaito added. Kokichi shrugged.

"Well, when you put it like that… but- it still doesn't feel good, you're the only other person who knows." Kokichi said. Kaito paused a bit before coughing again. It wasn't so harsh now.

"Oh, I am? Well…" Kaito mumbled, slowly walking closer to Kokichi. Kokichi raised a brow, looking up at Kaito. He froze up again, feeling himself being pulled into a gentle and warm hug by Kaito.

"Thanks for trusting me like that, Kokichi. It means a lot to me too." Kaito said softly. Kokichi let out a big sigh and hugged back. "You're such a dumbass… I hate you…" Kokichi mumbled, obviously not meaning it. Kaito smiled a bit again. They both pulled away from the hug after.

"But- you totally seem to be feeling better. Were you faking to get away from me~?" Kokichi asked, laughing a bit. "What? N-No! I would never fake that! And definitely not for that reason, but It's- not even what you think…" Kaito mumbled, starting to walk away again. Kokichi frowned a bit. "Well, I really do hope you feel better- even if I have no idea what's going on. Just text me later, please?"

Kaito smiled a bit again. "Yeah, sure. Whatever you'd like, Kokichi." Kaito hummed. Kaito looked around a bit in the hallway, waving and saying a quick hello before disappearing completely. Kokichi raised a brow before watching Korekiyo and Rantaro slowly walk into the room.

"Oh? Were we interrupting anything?" Rantaro asked, looking around a bit. Kokichi shook his head, going back to one of the beds and sitting down. "Not at all. He was just leaving." Kokichi answered. Rantaro pouted a bit. "Aw, did you two fight? We've been seeing the two of you around each other all day, it was kinda cute."

Kokichi rolled his eyes, not even wanting to add to that. "Anyway, why did the two of you just show up now?" Kokichi asked. Rantaro shrugged. "Kiyo and I got suuuuuper~ bored. We were just checking in, wondering if you wanted to hang out or something. I really hope you don't mind us coming back." Rantaro explained. Korekiyo nodded before whispering something to Rantaro. Kokichi looked away, feeling a little curious about what they were saying.

"Yeah, sure- I don't mind. I mean I was basically just left alone here, and there's not much I can do by myself." Kokichi added. "Oh~ we understand." Korekiyo said, getting on the other bed. Rantaro laughed a bit before sitting next to Korekiyo.

For a few hours, they actually did enjoy their time. They talked and they laughed and Kokichi was definitely glad to feel included with the other two. He made sure to send a 'feel better :)' text to Kaito.

"Oh~ I forgot! You wanted to go out late tonight, right?" Rantaro asked, looking up at Korekiyo. Korekiyo nodded. "Yes, that's right. I didn't want it to be just us though. Kokichi, would you care to join us?" Korekiyo peaked over at Kokichi. Kokichi paused a bit. "hmm… sure! Why not? It sounds fun." He hummed.

Rantaro smiled. "Great, now ask your boyfriend to come along with us." He laughed. Kokichi sighed. "Do you mean Kaito? He's definitely not my boyfriend, you idiot! He's just a loser. And besides, he's like sick or something- he's being super weird. I'll still ask though…" because Kokichi was definitely not opposed to inviting him.

Kaito sent a text back, saying he could do so. And with that, the three headed out of the hotel to meet up with Kaito. It was already dark out, but not too dark.

Kokichi spotted Kaito almost quickly, smiling a bit more once he noticed him. Kaito had a big smile too, and- it looked like someone else was with him. He quickly wrapped his arm around Makis' shoulders, waving to everyone with his other hand. They all said their greetings and Kokichi just thought to himself. She's going to be joining them.
