Chapter 26: a miracle

Lucy's POV:

I groaned as I woke up. The car had stopped. Camilla opened the trunk and pulled me out. "We're going home. To Puerto Rico. Lin won't find us there" she said. I saw a private jet and knew I would soon be taken from my family. I began to cry softly

Camilla slapped me "don't cry brat" she spat. She dropped me to the ground and I groaned when my head hit the hard floor. She kicked my stomach putting a knife to my neck when she heard her phone buzz

"Hello Camilla speaking. What?!" She growled. She glared at me and stabbed my thigh and dug it in deep twisting it "the judge just called. They've changed their mind" she spat. "Did you call them?!" She said roughly grabbing my neck

I was shaking. I had contacted Lin for help but I hadn't contacted the judge. "I-called-Lin" I hissed out

She looked mad. She threw me to the ground roughly "well then.." she pulled me up and as she heard sirens she smirked. She saw Lin rush out of a car.

Camilla put her knife to my neck "don't move Lin! Move and she dies!"

The sirens were closer now. Lin had come alone first. He looked at me in fear "mija...." he took a step forward

I froze when i saw Camilla pull out a gun. I lunged myself between the weapon and Lin. The bullet going into my side as I fell in front of Lin.

It was then when the cops arrived. Pushing Camilla into their car now cuffed. Lin ran to my side and held me in his arms "mija...I'm here sweetie, I'm here..."

I was barely conscious. I felt him gently take the tape off my mouth and remove the gag. I coughed and spluttered as I shivered. I felt him use his pocket knife to cut my bindings next. I flung myself into his arms and cried

An ambulance arrived and He was allowed in with me.  He gently stroked my hand as I cried. A medic worked on bandaging my wounds till we arrived where they could be properly treated.

Once I was treated they allowed Lin back in with me. He held me close and rubbed my back. I leaned into him and smiled softly. I was okay now. I had my dad now. Vanessa would be arriving soon as well to see me.

Lin frowned "I'm so sorry Lu..." he sighed. I saw how exhausted he looked. He usually had bags under his eyes but these were extreme. He looked exhausted and he had tear stains on his cheeks

I shook my head "dad don't blame yourself. The court made a mistake. They fixed it now. Camilla won't hurt us anymore" I hoped this was true anyways. "But why does she hate us so much?"

He frowned "I dunno...I guess she's jealous your so happy here with V and I and Sebastian. But she's always been rough..."

"Before this morning yesterday evening she was being kind...when I woke I was tied up and she...she injected me with something..." I explained

He listened and sighed shakily "so then....She drugged you..." he frowned. He held me closer and I felt him put his head on my shoulder.

I sniffled. I heard mom, my real mom, Vanessa walk in and hurry to us. She gently held me and Lin close. Comforting us both. Lin wrapped an arm around me and his wife. We all comforted each other for some time.

I slowly fell asleep in Lin's arms. He had insisted Vanessa go home once it had gotten really late. Sebastian and Fransisco needed her. I would stay with Lucy to make sure she was okay

I snuggled up close to my dad. I felt safe here with him. Lin smiled gently at me and rubbed my head soothingly. He was relieved to have his daughter back. Relieved he had gotten me back before things got even worse

I was skinny though. I hadn't really eaten much and Lin saw this and became worried. He didn't say anything cause I was sleeping but I'm sure I would be asked about it when things were okay again and I had recovered physically

Lin's POV:

I had my daughter back. Thank heavens. She seemed so frail though and that honestly worried me a lot. I would ask her later though

I was exhausted and knew I needed sleep. I was worried Lucy would be taken if I slept but my body seemed to not care. I slipped into a soft slumber as I held my daughter

I slept soundly awhile. Lucy was asleep anyways but she could wake me if she needs me. But she may not wake me even if she needs me cause she'd probably not want to wake me

I began to tremble a bit as I had a nightmare of the awful court case. Of the awful things Camilla did to me and now to Lucy. I didn't usually show anyone my anxieties. Vanessa knew some but not everything

I felt Lucy hug me tight as she could to comfort me and I opened my eyes. Seeing her and felt her embrace. She was trying to comfort me. That warmed my heart. I smile softly and close my eyes again and allow myself to fall asleep.

The next morning Lucy was allowed home so we got her set and I drove us both home. When to the apartment I carried her inside and smiled as V and Sebastian and Franky all looked over

"Sissy!" Sebastian smiled. Lucy smiled ans gently hugged her brothers. I walked to V and kissed her cheek as i put an arm around her. Again not mentioning my nightmare but now I didn't because I was happy right now. My family was all back together again. Everything was as it should be. And for now I prayed we had awhile of peace ahead of us
