Chapter 21: healing

Lin's POV:

Lucy hadn't left my side since they had found me. She feared if she left my side something would happen. So whenever She wasn't at school she was curled up close to me. Holding onto me softly

"Its okay babygirl everything will be alright" I soothed

"I know but- it was scary...having you snatched so suddenly..." She sniffled

I gently held her close as I said "i know sweetie...I know..."

V was working from home now for now. She couldn't bare being away from me in fear of me being taken again. Her job had understood

I was tired so I hugged Lucy then went to me V's room for a nap. Lucy went to help watch Sebby and Frankie so i could nap and V was still working even if from home

I knew no one had slept in this apartment since what happened. Everyone was too scared to or if they fell asleep they had nightmares. Sebby and Frankie were young enough they could sleep some but they still were anxious a lot

I laid in bed and got under the covers. My head landing on the pillow and almost immediately i was asleep after that. I slept soundly till i began tossing and turning. My past was plaguing me

~nightmare~

I was sitting with Camilla back in Puerto Rico, unaware of just how dangerous she really was. She seemed so sweet and kind, but that was all a lie

A front she had put up to gain my trust then betray me later which would leave me heartbroken for years until I'd meet V

Camilla was deceiving. When in public she was polite. When alone with me she was cruel and unloving. Her past wasn't shaky.

She hadn't even told me about Lucy which meant my own daughter was kept away from me for twelve years.

The last thing I remember in the nightmare was Cami saying horrible lies to bring us apart

-reality-

I woke up feeling Vanessa holding me. I smile at this and nuzzle into her arms. I loved her so much, mi amor, my queen

She smiled and held me close "i got you" she comforted as she rubbed my back gently in smooth circles

I smile and sleepily look at her "hiiii" i greeted and hugged her close to me, cuddling her like one would a plushie. Me just squished onto her

She chuckled gently "hi" she said and kissed my nose "your adorable you know that?"

I chuckled and smiled sheepishly "thank you. And your beautiful" I praise her lovingly

She smiled and continued to snuggle me. We enjoyed moments like these. And with our kids asleep we had this chance now

Of course we would always be open to our kids if they were ever stressed or scared. It was a parents job yes but we loved our kids dearly and would do anything for them

~the next morning~

I was up earlier then usual and so I just held my wife close, I didn't want to wake her and she was asleep against my chest

I smiled softly as I look down at her. She was my everything. I heard Lucy shuffle in, it was her as the footsteps weren't as small

I look over "Ninita...what's wrong?" I whispered

She sniffled "b-bad dream..." she said and shuffled to me. "Y-your safe. Thank goodness" she said relieved

I carefully, without waking her let go and laid V down then got up. I gently held my daughter close

"Daddy's here...I got you ninita" I soothed

She nodded softly as she leaned into the hug. Occasionally sniffling from her emotion

I kissed the top of her head and held her as long as she needed

I soon heard her breathing was even and saw she slumped into me, asleep

I smiled and gently scooped her up. I carried her to bed knowing she was tired and rather sleep in a bed then standing up

I treasured the moments we were blessed with
