Chapter 13: Puerto Rico vacation

Lin's POV:
I had planned a surprise trip for us all, knowing a vacation would be good for all of us and would help Lucy in recovery as well. We were headed to Puerto Rico. A island with lush tropical greenery and mountains, surrounded by a beautiful ocean. I was packing our bags when i heard Lucy awake in her room, her vision was still not completely back but it was slowly healing on its own actually which was a miracle but relief as I knew surgery would've absolutely terrified her, she's my little girl and I hated seeing her so scared or in any pain. Speaking of- she soon bounced into the apartment. She must've finished her last day of school till we got home from our trip. Vanessa was with her as we didn't let Lucy be alone whenever not home.
      Vanessa's POV:
I walked into the house with my daughter. Helping her with whatever she needed. She was pretty independent and stubborn though and i knew she'd want to do most things herself. Which i did allow, i just wanted to be there in case she fell or anything. "Mom?" I heard her ask. I look over at her with a smile "yes sweetie?" I asked. "Thanks for helping me like this. You and dad both" she smiled gently. I smiled warmly and hugged her "your welcome. We love you and will always do anything for you, here wait here a minute while i go find your father" i smile and go to me and Lin's room. I knew he would want me to bring him to Lucy so the surprise stayed well- a surprise. "Lin?" I smile as I walk over to him. He turned to me and smiled kissing my cheek "hi V, welcome home" he said gently. "How are you and Luc?" He asked. I smile "Lucy is alright. She's in the living room and I'm good" she said hugging him "you?" She asked. He smiled "I'm great, almost ready" he said quietly. He had packed Lucy's bag for her when she was at school so she wouldn't know. I nodded with a grin "gonna go tell her?" I asked and he nodded smiling. He being the hyper man he is bolted out our room to go tell our daughter.
     Lucy's POV:
I was working on the little bit of homework i had when he bounced in- literally. "Dad!" I smile and fumble a bit to get to him, luckily he scoops me up and hugs me "hi mi Mariposa" he said ruffling my hair gently. I giggle at the Spanish nickname and smile "hi dad, how are you?" I asked happily. He smiles "great! Yourself. Also i have a surprise" he grinned. "I'm good and ooo what is it?" I asked excitedly. I wondered what he had up his sleeve. It was known he could be quite sneaky with these things. He smiled "thats great and we're headed to Puerto Rico!" He said excitedly. I squeaked happily "omg! Dad this is amazing!" I said happily as i bounced lightly. He chuckled and gently set me down "I'm happy that your excited. This'll be fun" i grinned "we leave tomorrow morning, I already packed your bags for you" he said gently. I smile and hug him tightly again "i love ya dad" he smiled "love ya too kiddo" he said gently. He gently picked me up and carried me to the sofa, he then ruffled my hair and went to make dinner. I smile and leaned back, closing my eyes and relaxing. I was so grateful to be here. This loving family, they were caring and made me feel cared for and loved. I was a proud adopted Miranda. I always would be. After a delicious dinner of tacos we headed to bed early because we had a early flight the next day. When we get to the airport I'm shaky. I'm not too keen on heights is all. Or planes. Lin must've sensed this cause he gently put an arm around me and walked with me. Vanessa right beside me too, allowing me to feel much safer now. I sat by Lin on the plane and V was beside Lin. Soon our plane took off, i squished my face against Lin's shoulder at the take off part- it was the worse. He gently held me with his free arm and held me. After we were up i relaxed a little and peeked out towards the window with curiosity. "Go on and look kiddo" he smiled and i nodded and happily peeked out the window curiously. It was a pretty view I'd admit. I relaxed and just watched the view from above with a almost content smile. The being up so high still scared me a little but i was with Lin and V and I was safe. The flight was pretty long but soon enough we had landed- we were now in the lush green island of Puerto Rico.
