Chapter 4: having to start school

Lucy's POV:
Today was the first day of my new school. I was pretty nervous. What if the other kids didn't like me? What if they were mean? What if somehow the fact i was adopted by the creator of Hamilton himself adopted me and i get swarmed for signatures. Now of course Lin is an amazing dad, and Vanessa an amazing mom. My two brothers as well, but i was pretty wary around crowds. Even at shows when I'd go with Lin I'd often stay in his dressing room until he finished his time at Stage Door. I knew overall the fans were kind and respectful but that didn't mean I wasn't nervous or anything like that. I sighed as i grabbed my bag and packed lunch, Lin had made me a PB&J sandwich. A favorite of mine, and some chips. As i woke so early i grabbed a granola bar for breakfast.
I smiled seeing Lin walk up to me. He was seeing me off as Vanessa was already at work "ready kiddo?" He asked kindly and gently ruffled my hair.
I chuckle "dadddd" i laugh and nod "ready as I'll ever be" i manage a nervous smile. My nervousness must have been pretty evident cause soon i was engulfed in the warm embrace of Lin. We stayed this way a good few minutes then he let go "I'll pick you up at three" he smiled and soon i was off.
~timeskip to arriving at school~
The first day was going fine till a group of guys showed up. They were acting weird and i was really scared. These guys were to end up my bullies. They pinned me to a locker and i shut my eyes. I felt blows to my ribs, stomach, and head. My vision blurry as if i tried talking one of the kids grabbed my throat. How was no one seeing this? Well no teachers were around now. Eventually the traumatic experience ended as they dropped me. I curled up into a ball coughing and crying. I weakly managed to text Lin

Linnamon Roll: Lucy? What happened?
Me: bullies....
Linnamon Roll: I'm coming hang in there sweetie 🥺

I groaned in pain and sighed shakily. I heard footsteps running and someone lifting me up

Lin's POV:
I ran to Lucy's side and looked horrified. Who had done this? She was bruised up everywhere, even her neck. I rushed her to my car after telling the situation to the principle and then i drove Lucy to a doctor. Maybe she wasn't critically wounded or maybe she was. I didn't know the extent of the attack. I just knew she was in pain. I brought her inside the doctor's office and she was taken to the back. An hour later a nurse explained the situation, Lucy was safe, but she had bruised ribs and her stomach may be sore. She also may have mild headaches. I looked about to cry at hearing what my baby girl had endured. I sighed and nodded my thanks to the doctor. I called Vanessa with an update, and we agreed Lucy would be going to a Private School. A safer place. With hopefully less bullies. I stayed by Lucy's bedside the entire time. When she woke, she broke down into my arms, crying into my chest as i held her close with my own tears welling up.
This had been the worst first day of school anyone's probably had...
My poor Lucy...
