Lucy's pov:
After my birthday and everything else that had recently happened I was heading back to school again. This time we found a private school that was said to be pretty good. I was just hoping this was the case after I had those bullies bullying me in the public school. I was understandably nervous for the first day and as such Lin was taking me today to hopefully calm me a little bit. Which definitely did help. It felt good not being alone when headed to the new school. As i joined dad downstairs for breakfast I smiled softly "Gmorning dad" I greeted. He turned as he was making breakfast and smiled at me "Gmorning nina" he greeted and gently ruffled my hair earning a laugh from me. He grinned "ready for school?" He asked softly and smiled gently, he knew I was nervous and wanted to check on me. Nodding I said "ready as I'll ever be" I admitted as I was nervous to be honest but I knew it'd be alright. He smiled gently "I'll be a call away if you need me, just- maybe not in the middle of class unless you absolutely need to" he chuckled. I giggled and smiled "yea definitely" I say and hug onto him gently. After breakfast we got into the car and began the drive to the school. It wasn't too far luckily, before we knew it we had arrived. "Go get em kiddo" Lin grinned. I gave a nervous smile as I nod, heading out and into the school.
-later that day-
I was relieved that the day was going well. The teachers were nice and the kids respectful. Yes we had to wear uniforms but that was the least of concern. I was just glad everyone seemed so welcoming. A few did know I was the adopted daughter of Lin but not everyone knew, those who did respectfully made sure not to swarm me. Which was good as I would get overwhelmed easily, I had been prone to getting overwhelmed ever since everything had happened recently. I was still recovering a fair amount and would be for awhile yet, I was grateful for two great parents and two little brothers, I was blessed with this family even if I wasn't related by blood. They had taken me in and were doing all they could for me. Anyways, as the day went on I was making friends, two, one was a girl about my age named Kelly. The other a young boy named Luthe. I sat with them both at lunch as we talked. "Lucy, how are you enjoying the school?" Luthe asked as he ate his sandwich. I smile a bit "its nice, a lot nicer then my old school" I said with soft relief. I hope I didn't let on about any trauma, thats the last thing i wanted to do. Kelly nodded "this school is one of the safest, the students are usually pretty respectful too" she explained. It was a pricier school though so this was why it was nicer. As we talked I got to know them more and before we knew it lunch time was over and we headed back to our classes. The day proceeded uneventful until the end of the day. I was relieved by this as I now waited for dad's car. Soon I see him drive up with a gentle smile as I hopped in, waving to Kelly and Luthe in the process. He smiles "friends?" he asked as i nodded "Luthe and Kelly" I smile gently. He seemed happy "so I take it their nice and the school seems alright?" He asked as we drove home to the apartment. I nod with a smile "they're nice and the school seems nice" I said happily. Lin smiled relieved "I'm so glad" he said relieved i was and felt safe. Soon we parked and headed inside the apartment where i began starting my homework. I didn't have much but a little so may as well get it done. Especially as Lin had a show tonight and I was allowed to come with him. He always preferred having me by his side whenever he wasn't home. Especially ever since I got captured that one time. He didn't want to risk anything. So after homework we headed for the theater, we'd all eat dinner with the cast. Sebastian and Fransisco would stay with Vanessa. As I walk in with Lin I'm greeted by the cast whom all happily hug me. "Lucy your back!" Johnathan said relieved as he hugged me. I smile nodding "I'm safe now" I promised, I assured this to everyone, Daveed also having latched onto me in a relieved hug as well. After lots of hugs and relieved tackle hugs I went with dad to his dressing room where he got ready. Everything was fine up till then, soon after as I saw him begin rehearsing "My Shot" I heard something, a light at the stage floor was trippy. I saw it was about to blow and send sparks so I ran and pushed dad aside making sure to cushion him on the curtain. The sparks flew up into my face and some glass flung and lodged itself in my leg. My eyes stung as did my leg as i fell to the floor, my leg bleeding. I heard shouting and Lin at my side. He wrapped my leg in some makeshift bandage. I couldn't tell what it was, I could barely see actually from my stinging eyes. Was i blinded? The sparks had possibly gotten close, maybe it could be fixed. I was crying "daddy..." I whimpered. I felt Lin holding me until i was put on a stretcher or so I assumed. Of course Lin accompanied us and held my hand, "i-its alright sweetie, it'll be alright" he soothed as best he could. Clearly he wasn't calm though, he smiled we pretty panicky and worried all the way until I was brought to a hospital procedure room where my leg was taken care of as well as my eyes. All Lin could do was wait for the update on my condition...
