Chapter 29: calm day

Lin's POV:

Everything had been going well the past few days. Lucy was calm too. She hadn't had any nightmares recently. She had started going to therapy once a week however. Her therapist was a family friend. Doctor Rosario. He insisted I go on occasion too due to some of my own anxieties and traumas

But now me and Lucy were chilling on the sofa. Sebby playing on the floor with trains and Frankie on my lap. V was at work. She had started going to the office again. Knowing i was okay and safe. She had definitely been paranoid to leave for a few months. But with Camilla locked away we should be fine

I felt Lucy's head against my shoulder and I smiled gently. She was as snuggly as I was. I definitely saw more and more similarities everyday. She had my eyes too, the gentleness and kindness in them that many often saw in mine.

I felt her slump into me and saw she had fallen asleep. I smiled and held my youngest son with one arm and my daughter with the other. Sebastian sat playing and Tobillo watched over him. "Mi familia" i said gently and looked at my family. V would be home soon.

V and I had been easing Lucy into eating again. She hadn't wanted to for a bit but with our encouragement and comfort she had. She wasn't as frail which would aid her in her recovery. She needed to be strong. She snuggled closer and I gently rubbed her shoulder. I sighed softly and looked Sebastian absentmindedly

V walked in and smiled going to me and kissing me a moment as she whispered "hi"

I chuckled quietly and smiled "hi, have I ever told you your beautiful?" I asked softly gently rubbing her cheek with my thumb

V smiled and kissed my cheek "i love you handsome" she whispered. She gently took Frankie to lay him down for his nap. Since if i moved Lucy would wake.

Sebastian also headed down for his nap. Leaving just me and V and Lucy. V sat on the other side of me. Gently rubbing my leg with her hand. Gosh she was good to me. I was so lucky to have her.

I gently nuzzled my head into the crook of her neck and smiled. I stayed like that awhile. Feeling safe and warm there nestled up close to her. She gently kissed my head and smiled. I must've been tired because i dozed off. My head still nestled against her neck.

V gently hugged me and I snuggled close. Her presence was relaxing. I felt Lucy still snuggled into my side. Either she was asleep too or was just in a cuddly mood. I slept a good while. Waking up maybe a couple hours later.

Lucy had gone to do some homework. She was homeschooled now. Thank goodness for that. She was good friends with the kids on our block though so she still had plenty of socializing.

We just didn't want to risk a public school after everything thats happened. I think she missed it though and maybe we could discuss it. I kissed my wife's cheek who was napping and went to start making dinner. I settled on making pasta.

When it was ready I called Lucy down for dinner. I plated the food and set it on the table. My wife and Seb and Frankie and Lucy all were sat at the table.

Lucy had been having some troubles with eating and her appetite but she must've been hungry cause she actually cleaned her plate, which made me and V happy.

"Good job mija" I smiled happily. V nodded "its good to see you eating" she smiled.

Lucy smiled "I guess I was hungry" she chuckled softly and smiled at us. She had been dealing with anxieties but she seemed in a good mood tonight.

I smiled happy to hear her laughing. I gently ruffled her hair and smiled. Lucy giggled "dadddd" she said. I grinned. Clearly in a playful mood. V watched us happily. Happy to see us both our usual goofball selves.

After dinner and the kids were tucked into bed besides Lucy, we all sat down and watched tv together. My wife snuggled into my side and my arm around Lucy and my wife gently and protectively.
