Chapter 6: goofing around the Rodgers

Lucy's POV:
Today was a two show day, and as it was a Saturday and mom was working, I got go with dad. I smile as i got my bag ready with random things for whenever I had to chill in dad's dressing room. Though I was excited too, today I would be able to start learning some theater stuff. Being a theater geek this was some awesome news for me. I hop gently as dad and I approached the theater, he unlocked the door and smiled "welcome on in to the Rodgers Lu" he said with a grin and walked inside with me. I smile and look all around me in awe. I loved this place, this is where my life had started turning around. Where Lin found me. Now I was in a loving home and could heal. I still needed ice fairly often but the bruises were starting to fade some. On the outside. There was always the trauma that lingered within the depths of my mind. Memories of being beaten or starved, or countless other cruelties. Dad knew this and he had recently started staying in my room at least till he knew i was peacefully asleep, he didn't want his baby girl in distress and waking to no one around. His office right across from my room, coincidentally this time. It did come in handy though if i ever needed anything late into the night seeing as more often then not he was up late into the night. Anyways, back to the Rodgers. I grin as I heard the voice of Anthony Ramos, by chance we both had the same last name. "Hey Ant! I brought my kiddo" Lin said walking over with me in tow "this is Lucy, Lucy Ramos" he said with a grin. I waved "hi Anthony sir!" I smile. I was happy to meet dad's friends. Anthony grinned "heya Lu, also no need for the sir stuff, call me Ant" he smiled gently ruffling my hair as i laugh nodding "alright. Ant it is" i said looking up at him. Anthony nodded and looked to Lin "can i show her around a bit before rehearsal?" He asked hopefully. He knew Lin trusted him, that he wouldn't do any harm to me. I looked to dad curiously and hopefully, i saw dad nod with a smile and I go with Anthony. He shows me the dressing rooms, each have various things that define each cast member. Then he shows me the lights and such that helped the stage function, from its rising walls in the back wall to the ropes and two turntables. The stage was simple yet complex. It was unique, it was what most knew now as Hamilton.

Anthony's POV:
I was showing Lucy around, it made me happy seeing her smile and in awe and wonder of everything. I wondered if she would seek a similar career path as Lin. I hadn't heard her sing but she seemed to have a sense of music. When i showed her our piano and the sheet music, she was able to identify the notes pretty accurately. She had a sense of tune too. If i hummed a note she could match it and the pitch, leading me to believe that she most definitely had musical abilities. I would definitely be telling Lin about this, something told me Lucy was very self conscious in her singing but if anyone could bring the music in her out it was Lin, whether by his hyper bouncy energy or a more patient gentle demeanor, he could do it. I smile "hey Lu? By chance ever rapped?" I ask walking beside her. We had just a few minutes till rehearsal so i was bringing her to Lin's dressing room. She nodded "i like to rap My Shot, i can keep up to the pace for that one" she said as we got to the door. I nodded "thats still an impressive feat. Keep at it and i know you'll be the very best" i smiled. Lucy giggled "thank you Ant" she said and knocked before hearing a "come in" from Lin, i ushered Lucy in gently and once she was inside i headed for my own dressing room.
Lin's POV:
I smile as i see Lucy walk into the room "had fun?" I ask as I adjusted the collar of my outfit, getting the frills into the desired position. Lucy nodded happily as she sat on the sofa in the dressing room "it was really fun, Anthony showed me around" she said and i smile "thats good, Ant's a good person. I'm glad he could show you around like that" I say with a smile "anyways, there's some pizza i set aside for you and some drinks. If you get hungry. Be good" i said ruffling her hair as she laughs. Smiling i headed out and began the show, entering the stage upon my cue-
