Flying always soothed me. Sitting in the cockpit of the ship, with Obi by my side, was more relaxing than any sort of mediation at the Jedi Temple. On a regular day, I was painfully aware of my breathing, and of my heart rate. But here, watching the stars fly past, I felt like I could melt away into the galaxy. The rhythmic humming of machinery on the ship reminded me of the situation I was in. Obi took a quiet breath in, waiting for me to respond to his previous question.

"I can't believe I'm being the reasonable one right now," I laughed.

He was being absolutely ridiculous. His question was uncharacteristic of him, which is why I felt so caught off-guard. I don't know why he was in this state of mind, but I wasn't about to indulge him and end up dancing in the middle of the ship. Obi peered at me from the pilot's seat next to me, his eyes flickering over my face curiously.

"Just one dance," he reasoned, desperation seeping into his voice.

What has gotten into him?

With one hand on the armrest of my seat, I rolled my eyes and raised an eyebrow at him. A small grin tugged at the edge of his lips. He mouthed the simple word 'please' at me, trying to seem innocent. But I knew better. Obi's green eyes sparkled with mischief. His offer was tempting, but I reminded myself not to make decisions based on my emotions.

But then again... the sight of him begging for a dance with his knees pulled up to his chest put a smile on my face. He seemed so determined and so child-like in this moment.

I stood up slowly. As much as I wanted to give into him, to let him hold me while we swayed together, I had to keep my composure. It wasn't often that two Padawans got assigned to a mission without any other Jedi, so I wasn't eager to mess anything up.

"We have somewhere to be, Obi." My arguing seemed pointless. He had always been so stubborn; Once he had his mind set to something, he was reluctant to let it go. I liked to think I was just as stubborn, but deep down I knew this man could convince me to do anything.

He stood up as well and took a step closer to where I was. "Just one dance," he repeated in a lower tone.

My heartbeat quickened when Obi gently placed his hands in my own. He laced his fingers through my own, locking us together. When he leaned in, my body reacted on its own and moved towards his touch. His breath fanned over my neck, sending a little shiver down my back.

"Dance with me and pretend the world doesn't exist," he murmured softly.

Goosebumps traveled across my neck. All my previous thoughts about keeping the mission professional had vanished. The only thing I could focus on was his breathy voice in my ear. I wrapped my arms around his neck and watched as a grin crept up his face. His hands instinctively moved to my hips, keeping a respectful distance but still managing to make me shiver.

"I didn't take you for a dancer, Kenobi."

My comment made him chuckle under his breath. "Only for you."

"Oh, really?" I teased him.

After giving me a small nod, he pulled me closer to him, so I was against his chest. I felt his chin rest on top of my head. As much as I hated to admit it, I was really enjoying Obi's version of dancing. Even though we had no music playing, we swayed together slowly, with the sounds of the ship filling the comfortable silence.

I sighed into the soft material of his robes, breathing in the familiar smell of his faint cologne. "I wish we could stay like this forever," I admitted.

"Me too, my love." Obi pulled back and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead. "We really should be focusing on our mission, though."

I stepped back and gawked at him. As much as he tried to look serious, I could tell he was trying to hold back a laugh. My head shook from side to side, making it seem like I was annoyed by his joke. I pushed his shoulder teasingly and sat back down.

"Oh, so now you want to be the reasonable one again?" I scoffed.

"Someone has to be." With a wink, he took his seat beside me.

I didn't bother to fire back a sarcastic retort. As we put the ship into hyperdrive and headed for the nearby system, my mind raced with thoughts of Obi. It wasn't often that we got to spend time together without any other Jedi, and I was grateful he had talked me into "dancing" with him.
