I daydream about meeting you again
It is effortless
But I always swear how I am kidding myself
Even when I felt it as I woke beside you, eyes locked to yours
As you smelled every perfume lining my vanity and declared one your favorite
Society has told me I cannot have feelings for you
It is supposedly as unnatural as something can be
So I continue to ignore my heart that is swollen with bruises painted from the pressure of your absence
These words are a goodbye and a greeting
For I do not have the courage to test your desire and love, yet I still cannot let any of it go
