I'm out with Brandon getting groceries when Mindy walks up to me. I've been able to avoid her since I found her in bed with Derrick. I guess my good luck has finally run out.

"What do you want?" I growl at her.

"I miss you. I miss Sang. I want you to come home."  She says tearfully.

"Not gonna happen. Nice set of black eyes you got there." I look at her still swollen face although it's gone down a lot, I'm sure since it happened a few weeks ago.

"That was just a misunderstanding. Sang didn't mean it."

She's delusional, I don't know how I didn't see it before. Even now looking at her I can see the craziness in her eyes. She had me fooled for years. I can't believe the blinders I must have been wearing when it came to her. But no more.

"Leave us alone Mindy. We are done with you." I go to walk away but what comes out of her mouth next freezes me to the spot.

"You know it'd be a shame if that sweet little girl came up missing. You guys can't be around her twenty-four seven, anything could happen if she's found out and about on her own. I'd really hate for anything to happen to her."

"Are you threatening me?" I demand.

"Of course not." Mindy says sweetly. "I'm just worried about our girl is all. Take care of her for me will you. I'd hate for her to get hurt." She blows me a kiss before walking off with a skip in her step.

"Fucking psycho." I mutter before turning around and finding Brandon standing there with his arms crossed and a scowl on his face staring after Mindy.

"Come on. Let's finish getting the groceries. I need to find out what John has on Mindy." I tell him moving more quickly to get the things on my list.

*********

We get back to the apartment building and have the guys come down to get everything. I let them know I'm going to talk to John before taking off, Brandon on my heels. I knew he would want to be there too. He heard our conversation.

I find John and his team in the bottom apartment that they chose for themselves. It was a nice four bedroom one right near the entrance so they can stop whoever comes in that doesn't belong. It was a nice set up, they even put up their own cameras and have the monitors in John's room.

"What can I help you with?" John asks after he answers the door.

"I need to know what you have on Mindy." I tell him straight to the point.

I explain what happened at the store and hear him sigh before motioning for us to sit down.

"Before you get mad at me for keeping this from you, I want you to understand that it's all from when she was a teenager and I didn't think that she would be a problem. I'm sorry that my judgment was so off." He tells me before muttering to himself. "Apparently that's been happening a lot lately."

"Mindy was arrested for kidnapping when she was sixteen. It was a thirteen year old girl and from what the report says, she thought she was in trouble. Her father is a great lawyer and got most of the charges dropped and her records sealed. She was also charged with prostitution and breaking and entering. Again it was when she was younger and charges were dropped. When I met her, I saw how much you cared for her and I didn't want to cause problems from things that happened in her past. We all know from experience how people can change."

"I think she's gotten worse, not better." I tell him. I was annoyed that he kept this from me but I could understand why. We all had  troubled pasts and we try not to hold the past against people. I got it but I still didn't like it.
