What Matters Most

It was almost eleven at  night when I got the text from Kevin needing a room. Now it's almost midnight and he should be here soon. I wasn't sure why he needed two rooms if Mindy wasn't coming with him. Something must of happened.

"Corey, call down to the front desk and have them open the front door if it's locked."

"What's going on?" He asked.

"Kevin should be here soon. I'm not sure what's going on but he needed a place to crash."

"Got it."

"Kevin's coming?" North asked.

    Some of the Blackbourne team were in our apartment trying to work out what everyone would be doing for the mission. We planned to keep at it for the night but now I think our plans have changed.

"Yeah." I told him, hoping Kevin wouldn't be upset that they were all here.

"That's great. I haven't seen him since his last check up." Sean said. He's always had a soft spot for Kevin since he was the only one who could find a girl and keep her. We all wanted what he had except with someone who is nothing like her.

"I saw him talking to Dr. Robert's the other day. He was quick to get away though." Owen said with a curious look on his face.

"Well I can't wait for his girlfriend to make up some of that taco soup Raven raves about." Luke laughed at his own little joke.

"Well hopefully everything is OK with him. He doesn't usually stay unless it's for a mission and even those, he tries to make sure he can get home."

"Mindy sounds controlling." Silas says in his Greek accent.

"Tell me about it." Brandon grumbled.

   I was about to say something when there was a knock on the door. It sounded like he hit the door with his foot. I wonder why he didn't just use his key. Maybe he forgot it. 

    When I opened the door, I was shocked to see Kevin standing there holding a tiny blonde girl, who was definitely not Mindy.

"Uh.." I couldn't come up with what to say. I was hoping she was just sleeping and not hurt. I couldn't see her face because it was tucked into Kevin's chest.

"Yebena mat' (holy shit) that's not girlfriend." Raven exclaimed.

"Will you be quiet and point me to a room she can use. It's been a long ass night and she really needs to sleep."  Kevin growled.

"Who the hell is she?" Brandon growled back.  "Please tell me you are not cheating."

    Kevin gave him a death glare and before they could start arguing I made Kevin follow me into a spare room I had set up.

    When he laid her on the bed, I got a good look at her face and the moment I did, she took my breath away. I've seen a lot and I mean a lot of beautiful women but none of them had that soft beauty about them like this girl.   She was pure and innocent. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen.

    When Kevin took off her shoes, he tucked her in and kissed her forehead. I looked into his eyes when he stood up and I saw it. Kevin was in love with this girl. It was plain as day on his face. I gave him a confused look because I thought he was in love with Mindy.

    Kevin shook his head and walked out of the room. I gave the sleeping Beauty one last look before I quietly shut the door and followed him back to where the rest of the guys were.

"What the fuck Kev?" Brandon exclaimed.

"What's going on? Wasn't that his girlfriend?"   Luke.
