Chapter Nine: Home

Grandma parks the van in the garage, the five of us all walk in the garage door. Grandma goes to the guest room, which technically is her room now. Which just left the rest of us out in the family room. My mom nor dad would have never approved. "What do you guys wanna do?" I ask them.

"Movies!!" July shrieks. So first I put in Jaws, because we all like sharks. Cade and I snuggled the whole time. His arm around me, my head in his lap, just watching the movie, but we decided to stop after the first hour. After the first movie was done I got everyone pops, and made popcorn. While the kettle corn popped I quickly used the restroom. I was lucky, my tampon was full of blood. Quickly I changed it like I was just peeing in the bathroom. Right after I opened the bathroom door, the microwave dinged signaling the popcorn was done popping. Next movie put in was chosen by Cade and July. The two of them wanted Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I've never watched it, because it was my brother's. Cade was the only one in the room who had watched it. That came in really handy, because at one point a figure moves across the screen with scary music and I jumped, but Cade held me tight. Promising me I would be ok. Texas Chainsaw Massacre is about pretty much about a group of kids who ask a random girl at the side of the road if she wants help, and after picking her up, everything goes wrong. Once "Leather Man" jumps out of no where in a butcher shop, and July and I screamed loud enough to wake my grandma up, she just said to keep it down a little. I was so glad to have Cade hold me the whole time, he made me feel nice and safe. Cade was a skinny guy, but he did have muscle. The things is, I'm not that skinny, but everyone says I'm not fat. One hundred ten pounds actually is fat for thirteen years old.

For a pick me up, we decided to watch one of the Focker movies. That cracked us up, by this time it was three o'clock. We were tired, but still didn't want to go to bed. I got some snacks out, and we played a full game of Life. I ended up winning. Along the way I got: two cars, a really big house, Cade (husband), girl twins, two other boys, a doctor job with huge salary, and gobs of money. I was very lucky. Cade came second with a wife, boy and girl, nice house, cop as a job, a fair salary, and only like five hundred dollars less than me. Sadly July and Eli both did pretty poorly and got third and fourth. They didn't get to good of jobs, so it didn't help them out. It's now 4:36 and time to go to bed. The boys can go home whenever, their parents said, so we can sleep in. I leave a note for my grandma at the counter saying: We went to sleep around 4:40 so please don't wake us up early. I will set my alarm for noon. Hope you are well, and feeling better. Pancakes would really be appreciated ;) Thank you! Love Kay!

The sleeping arrangements were going to be me and July in me and Lily's room, and the boys in my brother's room, but July and Eli wanted to sleep together, so Cade and I (luckily) got stuck together. I didn't want to seem like a slut to anyone, so Cade slept in Lily's bed. However I had a nightmare around seven, and crawled in bed with Cade. He put his arm around me, and we slept perfectly in my dead twin sister's queen bed. I was only wearing a tank top and shorts. The only thing Cade had on we're his underwear and shorts from that day. I got up around eight to change my tampon, and decided to check the kitchen to see if my grandma was up yet. She wasn't. So I went to the bathroom, and went back to sleep with Cade. His chest touching my back. He was fourteen, but on the other hand I was only thirteen.

Ring ring! Ring ring! "Shut up dang phone!" I shout and aggressively tapped snooze. Cade sat up when I yelled,"I'm sorry for waking you."

"It's fine. By the sound of that I'm guessing your still tired?"

"Yeah..." I say back shyly.

"Just go back to sleep," so I lay down and he strokes my hair like a pet dog until I'm fast asleep.

4 hours later

"Katelyn, Katelyn. Wake up sweetie." I jump up and whacked the owner of the voice. All you hear is a smack, that's when I realized it was Cade.

"Cade!! I'm super sorry! I was having a nightmare, and you scared me."

He isn't even holding the spot where I hit him all he says is,"you were shaking really bad, so I thought I would wake you. I'm sorry, you may sleep more. It's four o'clock by the way."

I spring up at this. "Four?! I can't believe we skipped school to sleep the whole day! Are July and Eli up?" I had totally forgot about school, but since it is rough times I understand for me. I wonder how Cade and Eli told their parents they weren't going school.

"Still, no. Eli might sleep for another two hours," Probably July too. I decide to get up out of bed, and find some clothes. I slip on an Under Armour t-shirt and shorts. I tell Cade I will be right out, and slip into the bathroom. The blood was on my underwear again, so I changed those. I applied my mascara and lip gloss. Came out of the bathroom, and go to the kitchen where Cade and my grandma sit talking. They're talking at our marble countertop. "There she is," Cade greets me.

"Morning G'ma!"

"Afternoon Honey!" Oops, forgot it was the afternoon.

"Haha, oh yeah, sorry," I looked really tired, but it looked like she was feeling better, but I wasn't going to ask.

"Kay, Cade's parents called saying them and Eli's parents will be gone 'till Thursday, and they were going to Eli's grandmother's, but now they are staying here! Isn't that great?!" My face lit up!

"That's awesome!" I run and hug my grandma then Cade, "that's the best news ever."

"The boys will sleep in Jake's room, you and July in you and your sister's room," maybe we couldn't sleep together, but that made sense. We are only thirteen and fourteen. Finally an hour later, July and Eli come out holding hands, and laughing about something someone said.

"Morning, so everyone's up. Pancakes?" My grandma asks. We had pancakes for supper. The best day ever, but tomorrow we have to go back to school.
