*this is Cade's POV of when he arrived at Katelyn's house in the last chapter*
* * *
I arrived to Katelyn's house with no greeting what-so-ever. I look over to Eli just as confused. We decided to check Katelyn and Lily's room first, but there were just boxes full of girl clothes, posters, and other random items. Next we checked Jake's room, and were astonished by what we saw. He had red walls! I didn't even know, I was so focused on the nude women. Hate to admit it, but I sorta stared at them while her grandmother gave that completely embarrassing talk all of us. Anyway since Jake's trophies and everything were gone we went into the last source they could be... Her grandmother's room. "Annie? Do you know where the girls are?" I ask inviting myself in. You Idiot! Knock! I thought to myself. I dared not say it out loud, for Eli would keep getting on me for saying it. He would NEVER shut up again!"They are still in the basementI believe, but I warn you. Kay is so fragile these days. Please don't yell or make her upset if you will. It only causes her more grief," women and their periods, I tell ya!
"We promise, Annie," Eli replied before I got the chance.
"Be good to my Kay, for she is all I have left!" Katelyn's grandmother shouted after us. Not much pressure at all or anything! Gosh! I knew that if I asked Katelyn out, I would have to help her through this, but that was a risk I was willing to take. It's all turned out good so far! Kay is the prettiest, smartest girl I have ever met. She's lucky, I would do anything for her.
Quietly me first and Eli right on my tailbone, we walked down the stairs, trying not to disturb the girls. But then we heard crying. They saw us peer around the corner,and without any hesitation at all I dashed over to Katelyn, like a prince. She was my princess, I needed to protect her. Instincts took over, and I laid her down into my lap. Sitting there with my head against the wall stroking her hair, silence fell. I know that she has fallen asleep. Eli has calmed July down on the bed. "What do you think happend?" He whispered into my ear sitting next to me with my girlfriend still in my lap. We looked around the room in silence untill I spotted with my eyes, a piece of paper with hand writing all over it. Her parents will. Without saying a word I turn to Eli with watery eyes from just reading it, and handed it over to him. He grabbed it out of my shaking hands. Once he started reading his eyes also welled up with tears. Finally we figured out why out girlfriends were crying. I was there to protect Katelyn, and that's all that matters.
