Five months gone! Onto my sixth month! Grandma Anne and me have gotten really close and I've got super close to my grandma. I go to the doctor's once a month to keep healthy. No one has ever seen my ultrasound, not even me. My belly is bigger than I or anyone else expected. Today we are going to have a look at my ultrasound, and we re going to find out the gender. Cade's siblings are staying with us for the week, and it's been a big pain. He usally shared a room with his younger brother, but now his brother shares with his other brother. His sister is so young she keeps screaming, and his brothers fight all the time. There is a lot of yelling, it gives me horrible headaches.
"Connar and Andrew stop fighting! Amanda calm down, Mark go kill the spider in Amanda's room. Katelyn, Cade I want you out here in an hour! Come on! Sleep! That's all I need!" I look at the clock, 5:45. Why does Cook County have to be so far? I got up, and dressed. There was no hiding my bump now, it was big. Cade helped me get dressed. I was really hungry for donuts, so on our way to the hospital we got donuts at a mini mart. July and Eli stayed at Eli's house the night and while the remainder of the day. We walked into the hospital and they were all ready for us.
First they took my weight, one hundred thirty two pounds. That's a lot more than before! Doctor Wilert noted it down and we kept going to the room. Cook County Hospital has a nursery there so we dropped all three siblings of Cade before we came in. The doctor told me to lay down on the bed. I get on, and they put this freezing gel, and she began moving around the ultrasound thing. She kept rubbing it around looking at the screen only she could see. She was smiling. Cade amd I made eye contact and we locked. He held my hand the whole time. It's like all four of us were holding our breath because when she said she knows the gender we all let out s big breath.
"Who you like to know the gender?" Nurse Rebecca said smiling.
"Yes please," said Emily. The nurse stood up, and asked for Emily and Mark in the hallway. I gave Cade a worried look.
"It'll be okay, she is probably just telling my mom and dad what the gender is."
"I want pants on," I grumbled. I had to have my pants off and it was completely embarrassing. He chuckled.
"I'll help you after."
"Nah, your moms better at it. Besides don't want her to get mad," we both laughed at this and they walked in. Their faces were blank. Mark patted Cade on the back, almost causing him to fall forward on top of me. Nurse Rebecca came back with two pictures in each hand. She handed me the photos. I was speechless. The gender was boy, AND girl. It was twins! This explained why the morning sickness was so bad, and why my stomach was bigger than most are. So I'm not rising one child, I'm raising two. Talk about hurt! Emily expects me to breast feed the babies? Two of them? No one said a word, nothing. "I so call doing the girl's hair!" I said breaking the silence.
"Looks like I'm stuck changing the boys diaper, if you do the girl," wow. Cade and I were going to have a son and daughter.
"Man up son, you get to do both! How exciting!" His dad cracks me up! "We will leave the two of you to talk in here about this. It probably wasn't what you were expecting." Once his dad left I broke into happy tears. I was thrilled.
"I'm confused. You happy or sad? Because it's not like a was the one who made two eggs come at the same time," I laugh.
"I'm happy. Twins will be fun. This way we will be up all night equally, and we each can hold a baby. I'm so glad this is al out done and over with!" Carrying around this huge thing was hard at school. School was no longer a priority for me. If I could go, I would. If not, someone brought me home the work for that class. Was never really much at all.
