It's been a year almost. Sage and Chase have grown so much! Chase is getting stronger and can run. Sage walks a lot and has said five words which Chase trailing behind her at four. Cade and I have really gotten closer and patched up our fight. We take daily walks, and my fat from birth is completely gone.
Emily helped us out and gave us a ton of money for the kids. Diapers are a killer. They smell wretched! Ranessmae and I hang out a lot since my grandma's death last month. She was killed by sickness and old age. Luckily she died peacefully. She was home and in bed, I sat at the end and watched her close her eyes, her last words were, "good luck with my great grandchildren." Her eyes closed and she was gone. Her funeral was held where my other family member's was held. I sang again. Every Friday I have voice lessons, and my voice is getting stronger and better sounding.
Sometimes we walk to the park, sometimes around town. The children love the fun, that is when we let them walk and run. The slides are fun for them. We haven't missed much at school. I caught up after the birth. We get invited to many parties, and get together. Usually we attend if the kids are calm that day. Sage can have a serious temper tantrum. We still have a month 'till their birthdays.
Today I went to school and took three tests. Science, World Geography, and health. Aced them all. Phy E.D. was fun! We played dodgeball, ran a mile around the track, then changed back into our regular clothes. After school Cade took care of the kids while I did track and softball until eight. When I opened the door to the house, I was greeted to screams and hollers. Before Cade could greet me he runs past waving diapers and a bar of soap. He was trying to give them baths. "Kids! Who wants to take a bath with mommy?"
"O, I do!"
"Cade! Not helping! Kids! Come on!" Sage and Chase stopped running and walking away, and I picked them up. Carried them to the tub, and started running the water. "Cade! Wanna go for a walk to the park? Maybe Ranessmae could join us?" She had fallen ill one morning when I was over to visit. She was pregnant. Seven months today, a baby boy on the way. The name would be Charlie. Charlie Lee. We all were so proud of her.
"I'll call her! Can I use your phone?" Why couldn't he use mine? Ugh! This is everytime!
"Sure! Whatever! This is the last time, next time you are using your phone!"
"You said that the last fifteen times Kay!" He was right.
"Bite me! Gosh! Let me finish the kids baths! They have to look good in public. Wanna you know...help?" I shouted kinda teasing him. The kids were in the bathtub in seats that held them up and they kicked and splashed their little, tiny arms and legs around. Cade walked in without a shirt on. "You expecting to get in with them?"
"No," he paused smiling a cheek to cheek smile. "Thought I could do this!" At that moment he grabbed a handful of water and splashed it all over my shirt, soaking through it to my bra. I gasped. I did the same thing back getting his bare chest dripping down. He splashed me back, and soon we were having a water fight. It was a perfectly sunny April day here in Texas. We moved here so we could live with our lives started over. I'm as popular as ever! July and everyone moved down so we could live our lives normally here is Forth Worth. It's very peaceful here. Always hot.
Cade and I picked up the kids, and ran outside laughing. We quickly set them into their play pen with a million of toys, and I went to the hose. I filled up a bucket full of water balloons, and started throwing them at him. Soon he started doing the exact same. People around the community joined us, while July-pregnant with her and Eli's baby- watched our kids. She was only three months in, and having a girl. This was wonderful news for us. Ray and our boy can hang out with my boy while July and her girl can hang out with our girl. When we were all done, and everyone went home soaked we picked up the kids up, and went on a walk with Eli, July, Ray, Josh, Cade, Sage, Chase, and myself.
First we walked to the park. Cade, Josh, and Eli played catch with a baseball. The rest of us played with Sage and Chase in the sand pit. "Stop eating sweetheart, sand it is not eatable." I'm not sure why Sage always eats the sand while Chase just played with it. Eli missed the ball and it was going toward Chase. Josh reached his arm out to catch it, and he missed. Hitting Chase in the arm. The loud, obnoxious crying! Quickly I picked Chase up. I held him close to my shoulder holding tightly. He cried and cried. His arm bruised easily and quickly. It was black and blue. When Cade saw it hit his arm he collapsed and shook back and forth hugging his knees. Eli ran over to comfort him, so did Josh. Chase was crying and crying. Sage was in July's warm, cuddly arms sleeping.
Some how Chase was still crying after twenty minutes. Ranessmae and I talked it over, and decided to head home. We walked over to Cade and Eli. Eli listen to July tell them to get up. We started walking home. Ranessmae was in front, leading. July and I in back. The boys, besides Chase, were in the back. Ranessmae didn't have any of my children with her, she just needed to get home. She was going to call Emily. We all walked in silence. Still, Chase continued to cry. His eyes got red and puffy. I held him arm out to keep it safe.
There was a crosswalk ahead of us. No cars where coming so we started to cross. Out of no where a duly truck came roaring by. It hit her. It knocked Ranessmae right out. Blood splattered everywhere. I crumpled to the ground. For the first time in forever I didn't cry, didn't scream. Me nor July. We sit in the middle of the road filled with shock. I didn't even have to turn around to see all of the boys filled with shock and horror. Her life was over. My sister I never knew died in front of my eyes, just like my other sister. My two sisters, brother, mom, dad, and grandma have died in my life. From now on nothing will be normal I'm a homeless child, with no where to go. My thoughts of the first accident rang in my head: Where will I live, what will I do, where do I go?
