"Let me know if I'm hurting you." Sarah said to Heyward as she cleaned up his wound.
As soon as JJ told them everyone got into the car, speeding to Pope's dad. They all felt like they were going to throw up, hoping that the man who they all considered a father figure was ok.
They got there, seeing him. He had a nasty cut on his head, but other than that he was okay.
"You're doing just fine." The Father reassured her. He grunted in pain, Sarah finished putting the band aid on. "Thank you darlin',"
"Pop what happened?" Pope asked.
"Oh I should've known better." Heyward said, "He came in just as I was about to lock up. Caught me by surprise."
John B watched as Sarah walked towards. He sat up straighter, thinking she was walking to him. But she didn't. She walked right past him and sat next to to Sage, looping her arm around hers.
"Once he had me down he put his knee in my chest and he asked me about that- that- that key from that- that drawing you showed me." Heywards continued to tell them. "And in case you're wondering. I ain't tell him nothing."
Sage smirked at Heyward, he was so awesome. "Now did you track it down." He asked his son.
Pope pulled out the key he had shown the Pogues earlier this morning. Heyward took it, looking at it with confusion.
"I found it. In Mema's old apartment, right above the pharmacy just like you said." Pope told him.
"Shit boy you should've gave this to me, I wouldn't have had to take a beating." Heyward said looking at the key with disappointment, "what's the big deal? It ain't worth anything. Why they want it so bad?"
"I don't know. First I get this letter telling me that I need to go to Charleston, and then I meet a rich lady who wants me to give her a key that, I didn't even know was in my family."
They let Pope explain it all to his dad- well all of it except the part were Pope was almost kidnapped and was chased down with a gun.
"None of it makes any sense." Kie added.
Heyward looked at the kids, "Well Don't y'all just sit here whining about it. Figure it out!"
"No." Pope immediately rejected the idea, "I'm just gonna give the key to that lady. It's not worth-,"
"No no no." Heyward stopped him, "Did I raise you to back down from a fight boy?"
They all smiled, "No sir," Pope answered.
"Well all right." Heyward nodded, "Now I- I didn't think about it before. I admit that. But now," He pointed to his cut, "Now? I'm interested. Well did they say why they wanted it?"
