Due to the constant number of RESETS, it was difficult to measure the passage of time, but it was possible to estimate that a few weeks or months had passed since the partnership of the two most powerful entities in the underground was formed. Sans and Chara initially just carried out their genocide in a standard way, but eventually, to add more excitement to their massacres, competitions were held to see who could kill the fastest. And these competitions varied according to the mood of the duo, could be a torture game where the winner was determined when the victim begged to die for one of them, or who could cause the most creative death like throwing a bucket of water on Grillby. What once weighed on Sans' conscience was now as natural as walking.

- I can see you little yellow thing, and you are next. - Sans commented as he nodded to a camera in the bushes, knowing full well who was watching him from a remote location.

When Chara took a good look at his partner, it was visible the transformation that he had gone through to get to this state where Sans was totally broken today. Without any direction or purpose in life, the now self-proclaimed executioner adopted a new life policy based on just living the now without worrying about the later, focusing exclusively on the pleasure of the feeling of superiority he felt in finally being free from his private hell and being able to show to the world his freedom by killing and destroying everything in his path. Such actions could easily be noticed by the fact that Sans in the last RESETS was much more motivated than usual, always taking the initiative to kill first as if they were constantly in a contest to determine who eliminated the target first. Over time, there were even physical changes that could be observed, besides the darkness in the eyes of the skeleton whose never again had any source of light or sanity in them, it was also possible to observe a change in his soul that was now constantly visible in his chest.

The soul as such, is the culmination of an individual's being that reflects his characteristics, and Sans' soul changed shape from the usual upside down white heart as was the soul of any monster, to a red ball with a white circle in the middle, thus sharing a certain similarity with Chara's soul. At this point, Sans could no longer be considered a judge in the same way that he could no longer even be considered a monster, much less a human, he was something new.

As a consequence of having the very culmination of his being altered, Sans was no longer able to feel anything true. Emotions like guilt, compassion, grief or mourning were now only distant memories for him. Just like Chara, he was a real killer.

Smiling satisfied with the result of his efforts in having created this masterpiece, Chara had his attention drawn to him when Sans asked him something.

- Hey Chara, why can you use the power of RESET even? - Although he was caught off guard by the random question, Chara decided that he would have no problem answering.

- Because I am the most determined person, the one who possesses the greatest determination controls this world. I have told you this before, so why the question?

- No reason, just chatting until we get to the next inhabited area. - Sans replied lightheartedly while playing with one of his summoned bones.

Noticing that it was just a silly and boring conversation, Chara just ignored him and kept walking forward, taking the lead. What the child did not notice, however, was Sans' sinister smile disappearing for a brief moment and being replaced by a determined expression, something that only lasted a quick instant before disappearing and returning to the now familiar sickly expression of someone who had lost everything and found comfort in chaos.

As expected, the road to the royal palace was paved with screams, deaths and suffering from many monsters, both from those who were just trying to escape and those who still insisted on fighting for their lives, but could only prolong their inevitable defeat by a few seconds. Eventually they both finally arrived at the judgment room, and it was here that Sans simply stopped walking.
