After having that much needed time away from reality and spending time with mary; robert was starting to feel like himself once more after a long while. It had already been 8 months since the cure ended; 8 long months without seeing simon- or speaking to lol. 

However that was going to end by tonight- because Chris had organized a sort of meet up between the old members of the band. That includes literally only Robert and lol- with the exception of a few new faces. Robert didn’t know if Chris had invited Simon or not- he would think that Chris would know better.

Robert sighed softly and pushed those busy thoughts out of his head, putting his focus back onto his appearance. Robert quietly back combed his hair, something he had started back when pornography was first released.

“Mary? Love, can I borrow your lipstick?” Robert called from her bathroom, because he was in fact over at her pad. He had spent the weekend there.

“Yeah rob! It’s under the sink!” Mary's voice called from the kitchen. She must have been making tea. Robert hummed and pulled the cupboard open, glancing around the messy items before finally spotting the specific lipstick he was looking for. 

“Perfect.” Robert smiled, standing up once more and messily applying the lipstick onto his pale lips; smearing it even further with the back of his hand before placing it back where he found it. Robert then left the bathroom once he was satisfied with his appearance; and went to Mary's room where he changed clothes into something a little bit more flashy. 

Robert rummaged around and pulled out his only pair of trousers that weren’t horribly wrinkled and pulled them on quickly. Robert then pulled off his oversized t-shirt he had been wearing all day and changed it in favor of the pink crop top he stole from Janet months ago. Robert loved this shirt- he wore it a couple of times before; and had no intention of returning it to his little sister.

Robert stepped in front of the full body mirror Mary had in her bedroom and inspected his appearance; fiddling with his clothes a bit more until sighing softly. Nothing ever seemed to look right on his body. Suddenly Mary entered the room, looking around before spotting robert. “Oh- you look so handsome robert!” Mary said brightly, making Robert's face flush with embarrassment.

“You always say that.” Robert said quietly, looking at his appearance once more. Mary hummed before walking towards Robert, a small smile resting on her angelic face. “Well that’s because I mean it. Just because you think you look weird doesn’t mean others do.” Mary said wisely, wrapping her arms around Robert's waist and pressing her cheek against his back.

“Have you seen the way  dress mary?” Robert joked around, placing his hands on top of Mary's. Robert bit his lip, his nerves growing more. Mary must have noticed this because she pulled back and looked up at Robert's face. “If this is too much for you robert- you don't have to go. Chris would understand-” mary started but Robert was quick to shut her down.

“No- it’s fine mary. I said I would be there- so I should go.” robert said sternly, avoiding her kind gaze. Sometimes Robert had a hard time looking Mary in her eyes,mostly because of all the things he had done with other people- but sometimes her eyes reminded him too much of Simon's gaze.

“Well… as long as you are sure. Remember- no drinking alright? I don't want you falling into that habit again, especially since you have been doing so well without that junk.” Mary said sternly, crossing her arms.  

“Okay- I promise. No drinking.” Robert said with a shy smile on his face. Mary;s face softened and she let out a small sigh. “Alright then. Promise me you’ll be safe? And if anything happens you leave with chris." Mary said in a maternal way- which was sort of odd since she was not the type to be maternal. Robert nodded his head, “sure thing. I don't know what time I'll be home- so don't stay up for me alright?” Robert said, cupping Mary's face.
