The only thought crossing her mind was 'well fuck.' You know how a mother's eyes shoots up and her body jerks when she wakes up realising she overslept?....yeah, that was how A-rin felt. She woke up with a jolt, wiping off any drool and eye boogers she usually had. Her head throbbed and she felt a little queasy...nothing she wasn't used to before. But what she really wasn't used to was waking up facing a man...not just any guy, Kim Namjoon of BTS. She could almost hear the distant screams of his fans and it was enough to send a chill up her spine. Despite the random line of thought in her head.... she remained still, the only difference being her eyes were open and staring at his sleeping form. You know those self absorbed attention seeking idiots who post 'woke up like this'?....yeah except Namjoon actually woke up like that. Life really wasn't fair.
And as if he heard, he blinked his eyes open until his brown one's were staring into her's. He shouldn't have done what he did next because A-rin swore some of the panic reappeared, his fucking dimples showed as he smiled at her. "What's the time?" He mumbled, his morning voice, throaty and rough only making everything worse for her.
Clearing her scratchy throat, she scrambled for her purse. Digging out her phone she checked the time easing some of the panic forming. "It's only 6" She said. Namjoon nodded, caught in a daze. His hair still stuck up in weird directions, his features relaxed and cute. It was endearing.
"Do you have work?" he asked.
A-rin's mind jump started. Her eyes closed trying her best to ignore the dull ache. "Um...I need to finish a piece by today...I just need to pack it." She said running her fingers through her hair. She really hated that she didn't have a hair tie. Namjoon stretched out his legs grimacing at the pain, hands massaging at his huge thighs. 'Shut up A-rin'
"What happened yesterday?" She mumbled. All she remembered was taking a swig of the wine bottle which now lay empty in front of her.
"We must've dozed off." He grunted out, crinking his neck.
"Gee, I hadn't figured that out." She mumbled checking her phone heart plummeting and mind sputtering when she saw she had 20 missed calls from her brother and two from her landlord. "Shit..." She hissed, scrambling up wincing at the soreness of her body. Her head picked the wrong time to do that head rush thing making her search for her footing. Namjoon, now alert, got up straight before dusting his jeans. "What? Is everything okay." He asked concerned. She let out a string of curses hating the fact that she was too hungover to balance herself in heels. Picking them up, she started walking forward barefoot oblivious to a confused and questioning Namjoon.
Namjoon reached out, grabbing her wrist. He knew the moment he met the pool of fear in her gaze that this isn't just about her not being home, this was something bigger.
"Let's go." He said drawing her arm behind him. Her mind was racing, her brother knew there was a possibility she wouldn't be home yet he still called her ....not to mention her bastard of a landlord. Fear gripped her, she knew well the kind of person her landlord was and she was so stupid to have made this mistake.
Too lost in her train of thought, she hadn't realised Namjoon urged her into the taxi he hailed, her lost gaze found his and without hesitation, he got in next to her with a reassuring smile. "Where to?" The driver asked, A-rin's mind paused briefly forgetting where she lived before like an old, rusty machine it sputtered to a start "Sinchon-dong, Yonsei University." She spit out sitting on the edge of her seat. The driver nodded, starting the vehicle.
"Hey, It's going to be alright." Namjoon muttered placing his hand over her shaking ones. She looked at him, her expression said she heard him but still his words did nothing to ease the worry and stress shone on her features.
