I was in heaven by Chelsea Cutler

A year later,

October 2021. On a cold clear night.

"This is important to noona  guk, don't be late. Please." He said sending the voicemail. God this was frustrating, not only did he not see his boyfriend for over a week and now he wasn't picking up his phone especially today of all days. The younger ran his hand through his hair letting out a frustrated sigh through his nose not caring about the looks he received from the expensive crowd.

"Hey, you know he's knee deep in work." His sister nudged his shoulder. Her short hair bobbed as she let out a small snort watching her brother's fuming face turn slightly red. "I can't believe he isn't here yet." He said shrugging while running his palms over his perfectly tailored grey suit.

"He loves you." She said forcing him to look at her, her pleasant smile never left her red coated lips as he reassured him by rubbing his back. "You don't have to remind me that every five minutes." He laughed before wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "Also, stop worrying about me. Today is your day." He said kissing her temple.

Joy filled her heart, accomplishment reached every nerve ending as she stood in the middle of the glorious Seoul museum of art, her paintings under spotlights as they shone from the high walls in all its glory. The spectators whispered words of amazement, complimenting her work before engaging the star in a conversation. The past year was hard, painful and tortuous but here she was living her dream after working her ass off. Her smile was never this big before and her career was just getting started. Apparently Tae ho wasn't the only one who loved her painting, the curator of this art gallery did too and told her 'I need you to blow my mind, you have the talent...find the inspiration.'

And she did, she did after days and weeks and months before it all came crashing down on her. Using her worst fears and anxiety to take control of her creating one masterpiece after the other each one step closer to her dream till she was finally living it. The tears of joy, happiness...she never thought she would feel this happy again but she did and god was she grateful.

"Hey you." A honeyed voice spoke out from behind her.

A handsome man in another one of his impeccable suits. "Hey." She said grinning wide staring at  someone who gave her so much strength and love. "sssh, go to sleep baby." He cooed to the half asleep infant in his arms bouncing him up and down.

"Hi angel." She whispered to the baby boy patting his small back watching his chubby hands stop flailing and rest around Tae ho's neck as he fell into slumber.

"How'd you do that every time?!" He whisper yelled at her, giving her his boyish smile, his soft curls tossed around in the winter wind making him look younger. "It's a gift." She shrugged pushing a strand of her straight hair behind her ear. "Congratulations rinnie, you've done it and I am so happy and so goddamn proud of you." He said pulling her into a side hug not wanting to stir the little one. "Hey come on, you get some credit too." She giggled stepping back. It was a happy day, an exciting day to see Korea's most influential people from politicians to famous artists to leisure art lovers standing behind red carpet poles admiring her paintings, her paintings. A jolt of joy struct her body reminding her this wasn't just a dream anymore, this was real and somehow through everything she's been through she somehow found a reason to keep going.

"Didn't you have an important meeting today?" She asked taking the sleeping baby from his arms. He sighed relieved she took over and gave him some rest for his arms. "And miss this? Hell no, I need to steal some of your spotlight." He said bowing to an elderly woman who offered the good looking man a flattering smile. A-Rin rolled her eyes stroking Kai's soft curls, his thumb stuck in his mouth. "Don't let him get used to this." She frowned pulling his drool coated thumb gently out his gummy mouth.
