~Chapter 16~

*at the hospital*
( Adora's pov)
12 pm

I park my car and go inside, I went to go get food for me and catra. she barely eats normally I know she won't eat the hospital food. I walk into the hospital and to the elevator, I got pasta because she said she liked it one time.

I get off the elevator and walk to her room, this time the door is open and netossa is telling her how by law she has to stay in the hospital for a week so she doesn't harm herself.

netossa sees me and says "I will leave you two alone now" she nods to her I go sit down and she leaves and closes the door.

"hey," I say to catra "hi" " so you have to stay in the hospital for the next week?" I said like I already didn't know that.

"Yeah, what am I supposed to do school starts tomorrow" "I know I will figure that out tomorrow but now, can you eat something?" "no I'm not hungry" "catra you haven't eaten since yesterday morning. can you try and eat something little please" "fine"

we sat there and catra ate the food I got her and I ate too I was looking around and something caught my eye. her IV has a half-empty blood bag and water I think it is.

"you okay Adora?" she asked me "does it hurt" "what," she said with a laugh "Does it hurt," I say pointing to her wrists and her iv 

"Um-" I hear her say "-How did you sleep last night," she says trying to change the subject "you're trying to change the subject "you're trying to change the subject" "What, n-no" "does it hurt" "no" "your lying"

"you're right I am, it hurts like hell." we sit there in silence until we were done "I'm sorry catra" "why are you sorry" "I acted wrong really wrong" "it's okay, let's just talk about something else" "okay"

I clean up the trash and put it by the trash can by the door. I go back to the chair, sit down, and get out my laptop to do homework before the break.

  "It is so boring in this stupid hospital" "read your book glimmer gave you," I say looking up at her "I can't I finished it" "how did you finish it so fast" "I'm in a room alone with nothing to do" "that is true" 

about another 5 minutes pass "Heyy adoraa" "yeah?" I say to her not looking up from my computer "Since I can't leave the hospital.. can you go get me books from the library" "what- no" "please Adora" "can you just go on your phone" "it's dead" "and you don't have a charger?" "nope"

"fine I will be back in an hour have this," I say to her as I hand her a phone charger "Thank you" "Mhm I will be back" I leave the room and go to the elevator, I wait in the elevator and go to my car "I can't believe I am doing this," I say to myself while getting in the car.

*20 minutes later*

I got out of the car and walk into the mall. I wasn't going to get her books from the library because libraries are just nasty in my opinion so I'm just going to buy her books because I know she will read them instead of just putting them on a shelf

I walk into the mall I have like 250$ of Barnes and Nobel's (a book store) gift cards from winning competitions at school over the years. they always gave me these gift cards I have never used them except for now

I get her a lot of books I couldn't name them all but I added all of them up and it was still only 100$ "god, what else should a get" I whisper to myself "You should get manga" a worker responds to me "what is that?" I say back to him after him surprising me because I was talking to myself

"here I will show you follow me" I follow the worker to the manga section. "so the manga is basically a Japanese comic but you read it backward" "Oh okay thanks I will try it out," I say to him because it isn't even for me but I end up getting a series called devils to line it was 5 books so maybe that will keep her busy.

I go to check out downstairs and it ended up being $158.56 I had enough and ended walking out of the book store with two big bags of books. I walk back to my car and put them in the trunk. I see a best buy (electronic store) and get an idea. what is I got her a laptop that will be good for school and keeping her busy.

I walk over to the best buy and I end up buying a gaming laptop because it was "on-sale" it was still like 1,000$ but it's fine I have birthday money from literally 6th grade I haven't spent and I love catra so it's worth it.

I drive back to the hospital and it's been 2 hours. I managed to fit everything into the back somehow but I walk into the elevator, I feel like I've been on this elevator 100 times today. I walk to her room and go in.

"Hey, what took you so long?" "you will see here-" I hand her the backpack "-open it," I say to her. she opens the backpack "Adora I can't take all of this" "yes you can because I bought it for you, don't worry it didn't cause too much because I know exactly that you are thinking" "thank you" "your welcome"

for the rest of the night we set up her laptop and just talk for the rest of the night until she goes to sleep I have school in the morning and it is 2 am but I didn't care. I drive home and go to sleep I am so glad she is okay, I can't say that enough.

(A/N) hello, it is crazy how many people are reading this it is currently 6 am I have been up all night and I just finished writing a chapter. sorry, I didn't post for a while I had major writer's block, started watching the owl house, and started a new game that will be mentioned later in the book.
