"He left at the beginning of February."
"Bye mom! bye dad!" Zephyr yelled from the other side of the room.
"But honey you just had lunch-" Zephyr's mom answered, "It's the weekend, spend some time with dad."
Zephyr sighed, he couldn't wait, he wanted to visit Celeste, "I'll be back before dark, I promise!" he said. He looked a complete mess, the bags under his eyes were prominent, he couldn't sleep a blink last night, he spent the entire time browsing the internet about Glioma. He opened his door, petting his dog who was fast asleep before stepping out.
He rushed through the city streets then into the hospital, reaching for room 613.
"Celeste!"
Celeste looked at the open door, lifting his hand up from the blanket he waved "Hey Z."
Zephyr smiled "Feeling better today?"
"Yeah way better than last week."
Zephyr sat on the bed. He pulled out a package of marshmallows. "I heard they allowed outside food, here you go."
Celeste's eyes lit up "Ahh...thanks!"
As time passed by, Zephyr told Celeste about things he missed at school, most of the things he said were cut off details since he himself didn't pay much attention.
The nurse came in from time to time, she was quite kind and seemed to be in her early twenties. She was really professional too.
"Did you tell anyone else about this?" Zephyr inquired.
"Well of course there's mom, a few distant relatives and-" Celeste paused. "Come to think of it, no, not really, could you please inform the teachers?"
Zephyr nodded "Sure."
The window was shut, however the setting sun was visible and was quite prominent. Celeste leaned up against the bed as both of them talked.
Celeste offered Zephyr a marshmallow and he blatantly refused, "they're yours." Celeste popped another into his mouth, biting into it.
"looks like you like marshmallows." Zephyr smiled.
"Not really, it's just that I've never been so happy to eat one." Celeste replied.
"Oh Z! Next time you go to school can you bring the stuff from my locker?" Celeste asked
"Yeah sure, what do you have in there?" Zephyr questioned it as a reply.
"Nothing much, a few books, a pencil stand maybe and my camera."
"Alright I'll get it on Monday."
"Are you thirsty Mr.Robinson?" The nurse asked, popping her head out from the door frame. "No Ma'am." Celeste smiled "Did my mom call?" The nurse's expression changed.
"No, she didn't."
"It's fine." Celeste said, the disappointment was audible in his tone.
The bed creaked as Celeste threw himself back "I feel so pathetic." he sighed.
Zephyr's eyebrows scrunched up "Don't say that."
Celeste looked down "Right now, I really don't know where I'm headed, but...I wanna go where the stars meet."
