Get down to the basement to the Raphael of this world and her universe's Mikey. That was the goal.
New April repeated this goal in her head over and over, just to remind herself that this mission was almost done. With any luck, those two succeeded in their mission, and they could help the rest of them with the crazy amount of Foot bots and Kraang droids chasing them. If they hadn't? Well, all members of their group could retreat then, she supposed, and it would all okay eventually.
Okay, that was a lie. New April knew nothing about this situation was even remotely okay, but she had to lie to herself to keep herself sane. She really didn't have another choice.
"Get back here! Face us in battle and stop running like the cowards you all are!"
The Foot Recruit's shouts didn't help ease New April's worries in the least bit. In fact, they only worsened her anxiety, not to mention her confusion! Why was she here? How did she get here? New April and her turtles had been all but forced through the portal, but there was no explanation that she could think of to explain why the Foot Recruit was here too... or why she was with this world's Foot Clan instead of back home, working to resurrect Shredder with those weird Foot guys. What was even she doing here?
"April!" New April glanced over to her right to see Donnie running beside her and shouting her name, his brother Mikey still thrown over his shoulders. New April adjusted her grip on Leo, who she was still helping Casey carry.
"What?!"
"The portal!" Donnie exclaimed, "Remember? I told you the Kraang must've tested one out to your world about a week before you got here. If she's from your world, I bet she came over here through that!"
New April's eyes lit up in realization; Donnie had pointed out that the portal they came through had actually been the second one opened up by the Kraang, not the first. That had been so long ago she'd nearly forgotten, but that was the best explanation. Did that mean the Foot Recruit had been here a week longer than they had? Her face twisted in disgust and confusion, and she shook her head.
"Okay, so that's how she got here, but why is she with these guys?!"
"How would I know?!"
"Uh, guys, can you try and figure that out later?" This world's April called over her shoulder, running behind them and blocking a tranq dart with her tessen, "Just keep running!"
"You got it, Red!" Casey called over his shoulder. He sped up his pace, forcing New April to go faster too to keep Leo upright, and kicked one door open with his foot before the whole group rushed down the hall together.
The Foot Recruit and her team were gaining on them quickly, and they all knew that if they didn't do something soon, they'd be in trouble. They'd get caught, or the tranquillizers would hit another member of their team... With Mikey and Leo already out, would they even be able to get out alive if another person dropped unconscious?
The thought that Raph and Little Mikey might be unconscious too from their battle below plagued all their minds. They pushed it away—those two had to have beaten Dimension 18's Raphael, they just had to have.
As the only one not carrying any unconscious turtle, this world's April slammed the door to the next hall shut behind them, locking and jamming it shut with some spare Kraang parts littering the ground—one of the teams must have run through this area earlier, since there were several empty and dead Kraang droid bodies laying around—and then grabbed one of the droids by its head. She shoved its face into the scanned on the wall, and grinned when the elevator opened immediately afterwards. "In here!"
