Dalia's POV:
I collapsed into my office seat, exhausted. I had just returned from Toto's boring funeral. That idiot was finally six feet underground. I'd given him a simple and easy death because he was family after all, even though he had never considered me. Not that I gave a damn.
There was a knock at my door and shortly after, zio Dolce walked in.
"I was about to head home after the burial but was told you asked to see me?" he asked.
"Yes, zio. Please, take a seat. I'd like you to give me a recap of the basic things I need to know about the Yakuza- even though I basically already studied them and already know the essentials."
"Alright. When are you leaving for Tokyo?" Dolce asked, taking a seat.
"I'll be on the first flight tomorrow morning."
Dolce was surprised.
"Already?"
"Yes. The faster, the better. I have waited all my life for this, zio. And now that papa gave me his permission before he passed, I going to carry through with this. It's the most important mission for me."
"Alright."
"I'll be there with many of my men. I had already sent them away with Eleanor."
"Good. That was wise."
"While away, I need you take care of business here for me. Please, do keep me updated on everything."
"Definitely will. You need not to worry."
"Thank you. So," I sat up. "A summary of the how the Yakuza function, please."
Dolce stood to speak.
"First thing to know. The Yakuza hierarchy is organized in a pyramid structure. The patriarch, called the kumicho, is at the top of the family, and his lieutenants, under-bosses and other minor gang members go down the pyramid," he started. "The levels of management within the yakuza structure are much more complex than the Mafia's. Immediately under the kumicho (supreme boss), which in this case is Toyokawa Hiroyuki- are the saiko komon (senior adviser) and the so-honbucho (headquarters chief). The wakagashira (number-two man) is a regional boss responsible for governing many gangs; he is assisted by the fuku-honbucho, who is responsible for several gangs of his own. A lesser regional boss is a shateigashira, and he commonly has a shateigashira-hosa to assist him. A typical yakuza crime family will also have dozens of shatei (younger brothers) and many wakashu (junior leaders)."
