Dalia’s POV:
I felt so stupid. Never had I felt so stupid in my entire life. So blind.
Kimura had played me. He’d played me like the pro he was. All this while he’d made a fool out of me.
I sat in that completely dark room, feeling hopeless and very angry. There were no windows whatsoever. When Kimura had left, the single bulb was switched off and the door was locked. I sat in complete darkness, thinking of all that happened so far. For months! He’d made a fool out of me for months!
And Toto? That bastard had remained a nuisance to me until the very end. Kimura was like the karma he’d cursed me with after I had killed him.
I felt the hours pass in that dark room. It felt like eternity. So much time passed that my anger turned into despair and sadness. I felt trapped. What could I do? How long would it be until my uncle would realize something wasn’t right? How would this all end? A mafia war at this point was inevitable and lives were bound to be lost in the process of it all.
“How could you fuck up so bad, Dalia?” I whispered, angry at myself.
I felt my eyes prickle and tears threaten to roll down my cheeks in frustration, but I blinked them away. I wasn’t going to cry. Even though I hated this feeling so damn much! The feeling of being the prey and fool for once. I could barely swallow my own saliva and my chest tightened. I felt weak and eventually stopped trying to break out of the seat. It was useless.
Suddenly, I heard footsteps approach and I raised my head in wonder. The door was opened. I’d been so many hours in the dark that when the light was switched on, I felt like my eyes were burning at the brightness.
Standing there were two bodyguards holding a tied up and blindfolded Eleanor. My heart dropped when I saw her. They really had laid their hands on her. Her face was covered in bruises and so were her arms.
“WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!” I screamed angrily, shaking violently in the bound chair.
Kimura walked in a few seconds later.
“My men had no choice because miss Eleanor here is quite a tough fighter,” he said casually. “Also, she needed to be pay for having shot two of my men after they paid her a visit at your home. They’re in intensive care right now. You know, I should’ve killed her for that.”
“Let her go! You don’t need her! It’s me you want and so keep her out of this!”
“No, Donna,” Eleanor spoke weakly. “If anything, I should sacrifice myself for you…”
