Friday came, and the twins where still sick. Mom was busy with them, and Valentina was calling her family back in Mexico, so I once again became invisible. At 5:00, I went outside to see my Dad in the garage.

"Hey, Dad?"

"Yeah, Sweetie?"

"Can I go to a friend's house for dinner?"

"Who? Jadee?" He was deep underneath the car, fixing a leak.

"No, another friend. Her name is-" I thought of a lie on the spot, which I wasn't very good at.

"Katie. She goes to my Ceminary."

"Yeah, I don't see why not."

"Thanks, Dad! I'll be back by dark."

I left in the truck and headed to the Burger Shack. I hated lying to my parents, but there was no way I could tell them about Tony yet. They would become so overprotective, it would be awkward. I pulled up and saw Tony's familiar car round the corner. He greeted me happily. "You hungry?" He asked. I nodded. We walked in together.

After we ate, Tony stood up. "Hey, how about we go for a walk?" "Uh, ok!" He took me outside and to his car. "Get in! I'll take you somewhere." I got in the passenger seat, and he started driving towards the end of town. When we got to the end of city limits, he drove up to the timberline, and started walking into the thick trees. "Come on!" He called after me. Feeling only a bit nearvous, I walked after him. We usually didn't go into these trees for fear of bears or bobcats. Soon, he laughed and started walking faster, then jogging, and soon running. I ran after him, letting my hair fly. The smooth light of dusk lit our path. A clearing came into view. Tony stopped and looked up at the fading sky. The whole area was covered in flowers. It was so romantic. He took my hand and laid down on the ground. The stars where just appearing. It was the time when the glorious day turned into a glorious night. I could see the shadows on Tony's face. He was smiling. The moonlight glinted in his eyes, and somehow, the moon got more beautiful. "Look. The first star." He pointed out. "Make a wish." I closed my eyes and wished. He opened his eyes and turned his head to me. The only noise was the wind in between the trees. His shiny eyes flicked to my lips and then met mine. I think we wished for the same thing. I felt my shyness evaporate as he got closer to me. My heart started beating faster. I blinked and closed my eyes as we closed the gap between us. We kissed. He but his hand on my cheek ever so gently that I could have mistook it for a butterfly landing on me. He kissed with ease and with passion. We where alone in the world for a few seconds as his lips met mine. When he finally pulled away, we just stared into each others eyes. I looked up at the sky. The Milky Way was visible, and the moon was bright. He smiled romantically, and I just started laughing in glee. He rolled over and hugged me. Soon, I fell asleep.
