We kinda just looked at each other. Tony rubbed his face where I slapped him. His name tags still read "I'm super nice and super hot" and "I cheat on my girlfriend", and his girlfriend's read, "I am a player" and her best trait read "I can see people's name tags". I could tell she read mine. She and I just stood and stared at each other until Tony stood up and started yelling. "What the-" Ahem, heck. "Is wrong with you, Cherry! You need to get over yourself!" He was about to hit me. "Shut up, Tony!" The girl suddenly shouted. We both stared. She was sticking up for me? "I can't believe you would cheat! If you cheated on this girl, what makes you think I would trust you to not cheat on me?" So she didn't know? "What- Olivia?" Tony seemed confused. She hopped out of the truck. "We are DONE!" She turned to me. "I'm so sorry, Cherry! I had no idea he was such a jerk." Then, she hugged me. I was so surprised! A few seconds ago she was kissing my boyfr- Ex. "I can't believe there is another person like me!" She whispered. I smiled. "I'll give you a ride home, come on." I said. She followed me to my truck, leaving Tony alone.
When we go to the truck, we stared at each other, eyes wide. Then, it suddenly clicked. "Oh my gosh! You can actually read the name tags!?" She asked excitedly. "Yeah! I thought I was the only one! I can't believe this!" She heled my hands up. "We have got to be friends! The two name tag readers! I hope there is no hard feelings..." She looked down. "Absolutely not! As long as we mutually think Tony is a cheating jerk, I really wanna be friends!" She gasped and hugged me again. "Thank goodness there is another!" I smiled and drove her home.
When I passed Jadee's house, I felt a pang of guilt. It wasn't her fault. I overreacted. I stopped the truck and knocked on the door. Her Mom answered.
"Oh, Cherry! What a nice surprise!"
"Can I please talk to Jadee? It's important!"
"Well, sure. Go on up to her room."
I went up the stairs and took a deep breath. I knocked on her door. When Jadee saw me, she looked sad and surprised.
"Jadee, I am so sorry. I overreacted. I know that you hate me, but I am so sorry!"
She was quiet. Finally, she spoke.
"I don't hate you. Can we please be friends again?" She looked up, hopefully.
"Yes! Thank you!" I hugged her.
Then, I told her everything that happened. Except for the name tags, of course. She supported me, and couldn't wait to meet Olivia! I was so glad! I went home, happy for the first time in a week.
When I got home, I said sorry to my parents and siblings. Especially the twins. It felt so good. They forgave me, and I promised to never do something like that again. At school, I met up with Jadee, and she met with Liv. Liv and I turned into a secret nametag-reading society. We where besties all together.
"So, do you want to date again?" Jadee asked me one day.
''Well, I think I'll stick with my friendship for now. But I will, like, eventually.''
She smiled. "So, you wanna go to Wendy's with Liv tonight?"
I smiled. "Heck yes!"
