Y/N decides to confess her feelings for Lexie. Prompt by @JoyGirlMelii.

Y/N is minding her own business and doing some charts when Meredith Grey, one of her friends and the sister of her crush, Lexie, pulls her into an empty on-call room.

"Everything okay, Mer?" Y/N questions as Meredith closes the door behind them.

"No, it is not. I am tired of hearing about you from Lexie. You need to tell her how you feel," Meredith replies.

"I don't know what you mean," Y/N says. She has never told Meredith about her crush on Lexie due to the fact that Lexie is Meredith's little sister.

"Quit the bullshit, Y/L/N. I know you like her, and it's about time you ask her out. Look, I actually would be okay with you two dating. You're a good person and would treat her right," Meredith explains.

"Really?" Y/N questions.

"Yes, really. Now, after work, you are going to invite her to your apartment and confess, got it?" Meredith nods.

"Got it," Y/N replies. They go back to work, and Y/N's stomach is in knots for the entire rest of the work day after Lexie says 'yes' to hanging out at Y/N's place after work.

That night, Lexie and Y/N are relaxing on the sofa, stomachs filled with cheese pizza and caesar salad, watching some mindless television. Y/N is fidgeting nervously with her necklace as she tries to work up the courage to confess her feelings for Lexie.

"Hey Lexie?" Y/N asks softly.

"Yeah?" Lexie replies, turning to face Y/N. Y/N gulps as their eyes meet, Lexie's warm chocolate brown ones on Y/N's Y/E/C.

"I have to tell you something," Y/N admits.

"What is it?" Lexie questions.

"I like you. I like you as way more than a friend and was wondering if you would like to go out with me? Like on a date? I get it if you don't and if you don't, just forget I said anything," Y/N rambles.

She is cut off by Lexie's soft lips on hers. They taste faintly of cherry chapstick. Y/N kisses her back immediately, running her fingers through the other women's dark brown locks. They break apart for air, resting their foreheads together.

"I like you too, Y/N/N, and would love to go out with you," Lexie smiles.

"Awesome," Y/N replies.

Lexie leans in to kiss Y/N again, and as they kiss, Y/N is very glad that she finally got up the courage to ask Lexie out. Meredith forever claims credit for the pair getting together, however, but neither women minds a bit.
