Accident (Danielle Rose Russell)

Danielle gets a call at work that her fiance, Y/N, has been in an accident at work (Y/N is a firefighter).

"Hey Danielle. Y/N keeps calling so I figured I'd bring you the phone," Jenny states as she hands her friend her cell phone.

"Thanks, Jenny," Danielle smiles before picking up the phone, "Hey babe. What's up?"

"Hi Danielle. It's Maya Bishop. Look, there's been an accident. You need to get to the hospital," Y/N's captain, Mya Bishop, states. Danielle has met Maya several times before and her and Y/N have even gone over for dinner at Maya and her wife, Carina's, place. 

"Oh god. I'm on my way," Danielle states before hanging up the phone and grabbing her stuff as fast as she can, not bothering to change out of her Hope Mikaelson outfit.

"Is everything okay, Dani?" Jenny asks her friend.

"No. Y/N's hurt," Danielle explains.

"I'll drive. Let's go," Jenny replies.

The pair get into Danielle's car. The tall blonde drives them to the hospital. It seems like it takes forever, but finally they reach it. Danielle rushes inside where she finds Maya and several other members of Y/N's team waiting in the waiting area. 

"What the hell happened?" Danielle demands.

"There was a nasty house fire. Y/N went in after the dog, got him out, and then went back in to fight to fire from inside. She was on the second floor making her way back out when the staircase collapsed. We got her out as fast as we could. Doctors are saying minor smoke inhalation, a broken leg, concussion, some bad burns on her arm where her turnout coat rode up, and a ruptured spleen and kidney. She's in surgery now," Maya explains. 

"Oh god. Do you know how long until she's out?" Danielle questions.

"They said a few hours. Why don't you sit? You look pale," Maya tells the actress.

"Yeah. Okay. This is Jenny, by the way," Danielle nods as she and Jenny take a seat.

"Hello. I'm Maya. It's nice to meet you, though I wish it was under better circumstances," Maya says, shaking Jenny's hand.

"You as well," Jenny replies.

"You and the team can go back to the station, you know? You don't have to stay here," Danielle offers, knowing hospitals aren't the funnest places to be. 

"We're off anyways, and even if we weren't, our team is like a family. We're staying until we know Y/N's going to be okay," Maya tells Danielle.

Danielle nods, happy that her girlfriend has so many amazing people to call her family. They all just sit in silence as they wait for news. It seems like forever before a doctor finally comes out and lets them know that Y/N is going to be alright, but will need lots of physical therapy. Danielle is allowed to see her then. Y/N is still fast asleep, so the short auburn haired actress sits in a chair beside her bed, waiting for her love to wake up.

"Oh shit. It's Hope Mikaelson," Y/N coughs weakly several hours later, causing Danielle to bolt up from her chair. 

"Y/N!" The actress exclaims, "You're awake!"

"Hey love. What the hell happened?" Y/N asks.

"The floor collapsed. Your team got you out. You have minor smoke inhalation, a broken leg, concussion, some bad burns on your arm, and a ruptured spleen and kidney. They fixed your kidney, but had to remove your spleen. They treated you for the smoke inhalation. Leg's in a cast and your burns and concussion will heal," Danielle explains tearfully.

"Hey, don't cry, Dani. I'm going to be alright," Y/N soothes, "Come cuddle with me."

"I don't want to hurt you," Danielle whispers. 

"You won't. Come," Y/N replies, holding out her good arm for her fiance.

Danielle caves and carefully climbs into bed beside Y/N. She snuggles into her side, and is soon fast asleep, exhausted from the day's events. Y/N kisses Danielle's forehead before falling asleep as well, thankful for her team who got her out quickly and of course, for the love of her life, laying safe and sound in her arms.
