1The clothes people wore said a lot about them, you were sure of it. That's why you tried your best to dress yourself accurately every single day.
You felt as if the skirt you wore today represented yourself superbly. It hugged your hips in ways you adored, showing off your figure. It exemplified your confidence in yourself.
Not only the way you look, but everything. Everyone in your life was aware of your confidence, a perfect example being your work environment. People not only respected you here, but they admired you.
Most also envied you behind closed doors. You were the bosses daughter. Your upbringing was damn near perfect (skipping over your mom's passing of course). Your parents barely missed time with you, but somehow managed to bring home a whopping $400,000+ yearly.
How did they do it? They raised a beautiful, successful, hard working young woman without breaking a sweat. It sounds impossible, right?
Because it is.
Nothing in life is that easy. Your parents worked their asses off to get you here in this office today, and that's exactly where rumor number 1 comes to play. They missed a majority of your childhood, actually.
The lack of time spent with your dad, in particular, did the most damage.
You and your dad have never been on the same page. About anything, literally ever. Like in third grade; your dad wanted you to take up ballet. He said it looked good on resumes, and it made you look like the passionate, feminine woman you are.
But you wanted to do karate. In fact, karate was all you talked about, but he never seemed to notice. (or maybe he did and just didn't care.)
The point is, it got worse once your mom died. She was the common ground. She was the one to simmer the both of you down when arguing and find a solution for anything.
She was the person who kept your family together, and you think about it a lot. You think about how little work you would be doing if she was still here, running the firm alongside your dad.
"Close the door behind you honey." Your dad instructed. He took a hesitant breath, attempting to control his thoughts. The last thing he wanted to do was come off as aggressive but that didn't work out.
As always, he was far too frustrated with you.
After taking a seat, your leg began bouncing on it's own. Would could it be now?
