"You guys aren't going to believe it!" She roared while leading you guys back inside, almost slipping on the wet steps.
"Trust me," You looked at Namjoon. "We aren't."
"Between us, do you guys want to know what I think it is?" She asked, hanging up your umbrellas as a favor. You both shook your heads no, but she continued anyway.
"He's retiring soon." She chewed her gum obnoxiously while pressing the elevator button. You and Namjoon shared a look. "Who's it gunna be?"
"What?" You questioned.
"You know...who's going to take over? I'd quickly answer you but, daddy doesn't seem too close to you. He's taken more of a liking toward your handyman." She giggled.
She entered the elevator before you and you froze. Namjoon let out a nervous chuckle and looked at Katy. "Uh, my girlfriend and I are going to catch the next one."
You were unable to catch a reaction from her pick-me ass face because the doors shut on her.
"We haven't even heard anything from my father yet and I feel like I'm going to rupture, Namjoon. I'm going to hit her."
He rubbed your arm. "Please don't do that-"
"I'm going to smack her so hard her—"
"You know what," he shrugged. "Do whatever you want." He pressed the button and entered the elevator, leaving you confused.
Your heels clicked behind him.
"Just know we won't have any fun tonight if you act up." He said with a faint smirk. He then leaned into your ear, placing a kiss on it.
He proceeded down your jawline, soon ending up on your exposed collarbone. Your eyes shut. "Damn you."
As you shared this last moment of privacy,
So you thought,
The doors chimed open, exposing Namjoon's mouth on your skin.
The atmosphere went a bit silent.
"Are you fucking kidding?"
-
Jimin refused to stay for the rest of your fathers party. He had been so pissed, he couldn't stand to look at you and Namjoon.
His accusation was right, and he felt like a fool for being so vulnerable toward you.
You and Namjoon weren't doing so well either. Your father silently grabbed you both by the arm, dragged you out the elevator, and lead you into his office.
He slammed the door shut.
"What're you two? Nuts?" He said at a mild tone, attempting not to yell. "Are you trying to fucking kill me?"
"No dad."
"Not at all, sir."
Your father scoffed, pointing a finger in Namjoon's face. "Y-you! Don't you sir me. I trusted you around my daughter-"
"Dad!" You said while standing out your seat. "I don't care if I'm acting like a brat right now, don't speak to him that way."
"Y/n, it's fine—" Namjoon tried to stop you. He couldn't stop calling you a stupid girl mentally. Now you're both fucked.
"It's not fine." You shrugged. "It's your birthday, and I'm sorry you had to find out this way, but me and Namjoon have been fucking for months!"
Both your father and Namjoon's face dropped. His cheeks flushed red. "Y/n!" Namjoon said in shock.
"And it's all your fault. You doubted my ability as your own daughter so bad you hired a man, who happened to be sexy and charming as fuck, to basically do my job for me." You added.
"You will never get it! Not once have I doubted you. I see potential in you even when you don't see it in yourself." He rebutted.
"That's a lie." You felt tears pile in your eyes. "Ever since mom died I have never been good enough for you. You fucking hate me. All you do is remind me every day that I'm not good enough for you." You began choking on your tears. "Namjoon made me feel something again. You can't take that away from me."
A moment went by before he spoke again.
"After your mother died," he said while looking at the picture on his desk. "My work piled. The stress of having to raise you on my own worried me. I thought I was raising you as someone your mother didn't want you to be. I felt like I was doing it all wrong."
"So I made sure with every passing day, that you would be the best version of you. Strong, smart, independent, and beautiful. Just like your mother." He added.
Your father swallowed hard, and looked back at Namjoon. "But if him being in your life makes you feel as if you're the best version of yourself...I—"
"I have no choice but to respect it."
