Lauren's POV
It's a wicked game against the war with myself.
I haven't let anyone come close to my life for quite a while now, and I feel that's because my inner child is protecting me. No-one protected me when they hurt me, when they beat me and when I was at my absolute worst. I had to take care of myself, and now I've grown comfortable on my own.
But then Camila came along.
At the most unexpected time, and at the most lowest point in my life. It was Camila who made me see the tiny spec of light in my mind's deep and dark abyss that I was about to give into.
I had this mental vision that perfectly represents this. I pictured that I was standing in a huge, dark cave at the edge of a pitch black hole below me, the dark shadow pushing me to fall in. But I was forced to look up to a faint voice echoing my name. I see Camila, holding a small dimmly lit lantern in the distance, lighting up the path around her.
Now looking back, maybe it was a divine intervention that she was brought into my life.
Now smiling at my realisation, I feel an arm slide through mine.
"So this is where you live? It's exactly how I'd picture it."
Standing at the entrance of my building, I let out a sigh of relief, then reply "You're picturing me in your head? Well, what am I wearing?"
Hearing her infectious chuckling, she quickly shot back, "You're wearing exactly what you're wearing now. I have never seen you wear anything else."
My mind swiftly went elsewhere at the sound of her words. Control yourself god-dammit.
"Fine, I guess I have show you my huge collection of badass leather jackets" I say while taking her wrist and guiding her up the stairs to my establishment.
Once I open my door, the calming and familar scent of cedar mixed with coconuts ravished my headspace. I usher my hand toward the inside of my apartment, and let her enter first. She playfully bows like a head mistress, "Why thankyou, kind lady" and I laugh in reponse.
Camila walks in, then does a twirl to take in my home, "This feels so cozy, I love it Lauren"
I blush and try to hide it by shutting the door.
"Thanks" I peep out.
She then walks over to the glass cabinet standing beside my T.V, looking at the huge pile of CDs I've collected over the years.
With a hand on my neck, I let out "yeah I love watching movies..."
Lifting her brows and smiling at me "I can see that..." then she gasps for air, "Oh my god, I love this movie!"
She holds up my beloved Shrek CD and I let out a laugh, "That is my favourite movie of all time"
"Me too!"
She then whips into character, quickly reciting a scene from the film.
Holding up 2 fingers she yells "Three, pick number three my Lord!" then starts laughing at her own performance.
I start cackling, knowing exactly what scene she had quoted. That's when I thought about how perfect it would be to snuggle up next to her, watching a movie with a bowel of popcorn and maltesers, talking along to our favourite scenes in the movie.
