Lauren's POV
Camila phoned her manager to drop off her luxurious SUV car in front of my apartment complex. We decided to make the most out of it, so we agreed to have a road trip to Miami where her parents house was located. It's a 19 hour drive, so there might be a couple stops along the way.
—"Thanks Roy, I'll grab the car keys off the receptionist downstairs."
I walk with my small suitcase into the living room and look up to Camila ending the phone call with her manager.
She took a deep breath, as though to calm her nerves. I walk up to her and lift her chin.
"It will be okay, I'm right here with you baby. Whatever happens, happens."
—"Yeah, you're right Lolo." She leans in and gives me the softest smooch on my lips.
—"Let's go." She smiled, holding my hand.
We receive the keys and make our way over to the tinted black SUV parked in front. I place our luggage in the boot then make my way to the driver's side door.
—"Tsk Tsk, my car, my rules. I'm driving." She winked and jumped into the driver's seat. I scoff, and happily open up the drivers side door, leaving her surprised.
—"I said I was driving baby."
"I heard you."
I proceed to climb over her, roll over the centre console and situate myself on the passenger seat.
—"you could of just walked around." Camila laughed between her words.
"What's the fun in that?" I smile mischievously.
She locks the car in drive, "This is going to be fun." Her smile is worth every ounce of happiness in me. I simply loved to see her smile and how the wind hits her face gently, the way she only uses one hand to grip the wheel, how cautiously she drives with her hand on mine. Just a few minutes into the road trip and I've already fallen more in love with Camila Cabello.
"I love you so much." I say as my eyes were locked on her side profile rather than the passing road in front of me.
She quickly looks in my direction, then back at the road. Her hand squeezes mine a little tighter.
—"Ditto."
I smile contently, then look outside at the fast passing buildings, on our way out of New York and into the desert highway.
It was comfortable silence for a bit. We were both in each other's presence, yet lost in our own thoughts. Our hands still were connected, and an occasional wondering gaze at each other.
She broke the silence.
—"Do you think we should stop here?"
I looked around, and there was a little restaurant on the side of this grey road into the warm desert horizon.
"Sure Camz." I nod.
It was a typical family owned American Diner. There was only a couple cars in front of it, but no customers in the windows.
We walk in hand in hand, I look over at Camila and she was grinning.
As we take a seat in the booth, I sit in front of her and talk in a playful tone.
"Why you smiling like that?"
—"When we walked past the kitchen I saw a poster of me up on the wall."
I raised my brows and grin, "I had you on my wall once."
The waitress walked toward us from a distance, and Camila widened her eyes at my comment.
