Chapter 38

I stare at my friend's backs as they left the house. Everyone left except for us who are still in surprise of their actions.

But we can't blame them.

It would be really akward for everyone to have a calm conversation after the revelation.

Everyone needs to have some space and time to properly sink in all of those informations, including the both of us.

"Why.." I mumbled

Jaehyun shifted his gaze towards me.

"Why didn't you wake me up?"

"I thought that it would be better if I talk things out with them first" he replied

Is that how you handle things Jae? It's not only you who lost some friendship, and it's not only you who's incharge of fixing things.

"I wanna go home"

Staying in this island alone with him is not a good idea. I badly want to go home and talk to my friends, ask them for forgiveness. I can't imagine my life without them. They're the only people I have in this world.

I miss them already.

"Then what? Mr. Lee probably knew this news already. He might just hurt you and.. I don't want that to happen"

"Jae..."

He stepped forward and cupped my face. His bare hands gave me tiny warmth. A very comforting one.

"Then.. what do we do?" I asked

"Let me find some solution to that. Just make sure that you and this baby are doing good"

He smiled at me and caresses my tummy. It's the best thing that had happened to me today.

He really looks happy to be a father of this child. He looks so proud as hell but.. I know that something still bothers him.

"Are you happy Jae?" I asked

He gave me a questionable look and looked at me in the eyes. He's scanning every detail of it and it's intimidating me.

"Why would you ask that? I'm more than happy Glacier."

"Of course you do"

Silence occupied the room once again.

This huge house feels empty now. No more loud voices shouting at each other, those loud footsteps I always hear everytime they run around the hallways and those laughs they make every minute as if we're just enjoying the day.

It was all gone.

"Do you want to go upstairs and see my room?" he asked while he rolls his tongue inside of his mouth.

I already saw his room last night. I even slept there right? But come to think of it, I only saw it during the night. It was very dark and quiet.

"You have to rest right?"

Oh yeah he's right. I'm becoming more tired and lazy these days. It's like I'm just not in the mood for an adventure and I just want nothing but to sleep.

I nodded at him as an answer and then he held my hand.

We arrived at his room once again but this time I can clearly see everything inside of this room thanks to the broad daylight.

"It's so prett--"

I saw surprised to see his face so close to mine as soon as I turned back to see him.

"W-What are you doing?"

He didn't say anything and kept those mysterious look again. Gosh I hate that kind of expression. I can't read him thoroughly. He's hiding his true self.
