It's a Date not a Marriage Proposal...

I walk into my Entry to Calculus class in leggings and an oversized sweatshirt. I hate math, but even at music school, you have to take the basic classes. I plop down in my seat and the Mrs. Moore starts talking to us about limits. This is the one class I don't have with Jessie, so I'm extremely bored. I feel my phone buzz in my pocket and slowly pull it out.
Hello, beautiful Can't wait to talk to u again so I can find out when the next time I get to see those gorgeous eyes is -M

I smile uncontrollably and think of something witty but cute to reply.

Wait- I have eyes?! -K

*facepalm* I try to be cute and this is what I get in return... -m

Hehehe, how's a date at seven tonight sound? -k

Perfect. Dress comfy -m

Will do *insert salute here* -k

I spend the second half of class daydreaming of Mason and I's date tonight. As soon as the bell rings I bolt out the door to find Jessie. I see her walking through the courtyard and run over to her, tackling her to the ground.
"Woah there, what's got you all slap happy?"
"I have a date tonight, so you need to help me get ready!

"Really? With Mason?"

"Duh, who else?"

"Well, maybe mystery boy from back home," she states, looking at me. No! She isn't going to make me feel bad about going out with Mason.

"Are you going to help me or not? Because I have to get ready, and I still have no clue what I'm wearing."

"Let's go!" she exclaims, and we take off towards our dorm.

~.~

"It's perfect Kay! You look gorgeous!" Jessie exclaims, and I couldn't agree more. I'm weraing a red and black flannel shirt with jean shorts, and combat boots. My curly hair is straightened and I have a bandana tied around my hesad. Putting the finishing touches on my makeup, I look over at the clock to see I have exactly five minutes to spare.
"We're good," I say laughing at Jessie. We had spent so much time trying to pick the perfect outfit, that I thought I was going to have to go on my date without any makeup on and my hair in a messy bun! But as it turns out, we had the perfect amount of time for me to get ready.
"I know right!" she says, laughing along with me. I feel my phone vibrating in my pocket and pull it out. I see Piper's image on the screen and accept the facetime call.
"Hey girl, what's happening?" she says.
"Im actually getting ready for a date," I say, and her face drops.
"With who?"
"This guy Mason."
"What?! Andrew told me about your guys' heart-to-heart, Kay. Do you not remember the countless sleepovers where we talked about how much you wanted him to like you?"
"Yes, Pipes, I remember. Very vividly, I may add, but we aren't dating so I can go out with whoever I want to, and he can do the same."
"Are you being serious right now?"
"Umm yes. I am. It's a date, not a marriage proposal. I've accepted the fact that Andrew and I won't go out. I've moved on. I've got to go. Goodbye." With that I hang up the call, and look over at Jessie.
"You understand, right?" I ask.
"Totally. I mean, Andrew seems nice, but he hasn't asked you out in how many years? It's kind of ironic that he's just admitting his feelings for you right before you leave...."
"Yeah. Besides, it's not like we're dating. He can go out with whoever he wants as can I." At that moment, the doorbell rings, and I walk down the hall to the front door of our dorm. I open the door, and Mason stands in my doorway with a bouquet of daisies in one hand and his other hand is shoved in his pocket.

"Hi there," I say, smiling up at him.

"Hey, you look amazing," he says, giving me a kiss on the cheek and handing me the flowers.

"Thank you, they're gorgeous," I take the flowers and set them in a vase.

"Shall we?" he asks.

"We shall," I laugh, and we walk out the door together.

"So can you tell me where exactly we are going?" I ask. I still can't comprehend how I'm the one who suggested the date, but he got to plan it.

"It's a surprise," he states, looking at me with a grin on his face.

"Will you tell me?"

"No,"

"Why?"

"Because that will ruin the whole idea of a surprise."

"Well is it fun?"

"I'd hope so, I spent a lot of time on the idea."

"Is it a restaraunt?"

"Kind of, but not entirely." I sit quietly and try to think of what could be kind of like a restaraunt, butnit entirely a restaraunt. Then we turn onto a street and I see a sign that says "Brooklyn Orchestra: Playing tonight at at Brooklyn Hall"

"Are you taking me to see an orchestra?" He doesn't respond, but the smirk in his face says it all. I'm finally seeing an orchestra! In real life!

"This has been my dream since I was seven, how did you know?"

"Well, I may have talked to Jessie, and pried some information out of her. Plus, people don't usually go to a top music school, and not want to go see quality music." We pull into a parking space, and get out of the car. He grabs my hand, and we go into the concert hall.
