We walk into the lobby of the main hall for the dormitory, and it takes my breath away. The walls have intricate art and deatails all around. The trim around the floor is swirly and hand-carved, and the huge dome skylight lets in an abundance of natural light.
"Wow, this is so pretty!" I exclaim, pulling my suitcase behind me, and Andy at my side.
"It is gorgeous," he says, as we walk up to the front desk.
"Hi, my name is Kayla Morgan, and I'm here for the new student introductory program," I say to the desk lady. She types something into her computer, and smiles.
"Ah, yes. Here you are room A15," she hands me a key and packet of papers, "Breakfast is from six a.m. to eleven a.m., and every student must be in their dorm by midnight every night, punishable by expultin from this school. Not that I believe that you wouldn't follow curfew, just protocol." I smile at her, and walk over to the elevators. According to the paper map inside my packet, room A15 is on the second floor to the left out of the elevators. Inside the elevator, I leaf through the rest of the packet. There are enrollment papers, a parking sticker for my windshield, and the handbook.
"Isn't this amazing?" I say to Andrew.
"I guess," he says, wringing his fingers.
"What's up?"
"Nothing, just, nothing."
"Seriously Andrew, why are you acting so weird?"
"Because, Kay, you're about to leave for a month. That's a long time to be away, a long time to forget about me and Piper," he looks down at his feet, and an awkward silence falls over us.
"Andy, listen. I'm never going to forget you guys. And besides, a month can go by really fast."
"I know. Let's move on from this, I don't want us to be all depressed on the last night that I get to see you. So what shall we do?" he says, feigning a British accent. I laugh, and do the same
"Well, my friend, I say we go and eat at a Steak n' Shake, and then go sit under the stars."
"Souds fantasticc. Let's go."

I finish off my Caramel Milkshake, and walk out of the restaraunt with Andrew. We pay on the way out, and hop into the car. We drive off to a nearby park, jamming out to random songs that come onto the radio. Once we reach the park, Andy gets out of the car, jogs over to my side, and pulls open my door.
"My lady," he says, and I laugh, getting out of the car and linking my arm through his, nd we start off on a walk on some trails that we found. We start off talking about random things, like how classes at school are and who is more funny, me or him. It's the best thing that has happened all day, and we are finally not being awkward around each other. Once it starts to get a little darker, we go to the top of a hill, and lie down. For a while we just lay there, and don't say anything. Then, ANdrew says something.
"So, what are we going to do?"
"About?"
"Us."
"Elaborate," I say.
"Well, we both like each other, and when people like each other, generally they date."
"They also don't generally go to school across the country."
"They sometimes do, there is a thing called a cell phone. They call, text, and facetime. It's a new thing." he says, smiling.
"Andy-"
"You know what, never mind. It's a stupid idea."
"No, it's not. It's just, I guess I'd rather wait until I get back, if you still feel the same way in a month, then we can consider it." He looks like I just hit him in the face.
"Oh, um, ok." I lean over and kiss his cheek. He blushes a deep shade of crimson, and grabs my hand. I sigh in contentment. Even though this isn't perfect, it is.
