Chapter 36 - Riley

Let's just say that your hormones will make you want to do crazy things. For example the day I found out I was pregnant was the day I wanted to kill him. That was our first quarrel since getting back together. It was totally justified too, any sane woman would want to after what he did.

"So do you want to get married before or after the baby is born?"

"Huh?"

I look at Blake dumbfounded because I'm still processing that I am pregnant at twenty one. I didn't plan for this to happen for awhile. I always thought if I had kids I'd be at least in my mid twenties before it happened.

I glare at him, "I don't recall you asking me Blake."

"I already told you I wanted to marry you Ry. I have loved you since we were kids."

Okay he can be sweet and charming but also very dense.

"First of all you didn't ask me, and secondly I'm not going to be one of those statistics. You know the ones oh they got married because she was pregnant!"

He rubs the back of his neck  when he's nervous. Any other time I would think it's adorable...nope not today.

"I just figured I'd ask because most women would like to get married before they show or after the baby is born."

I throw my hands in the air. "You got be fucking kidding me Blake! I'm not one of those people. You should know me by now."

Tears fall from my eyes and I'm pissed because I'm crying. Who knew once you find out your pregnant the hormones kick in so quickly.

"That's not what I mean Ry and you know it."

"I don't know anything right now can we just drop it please."

Suffice to say it's been a few days and things are starting to get back to normal. Well besides Blake fussing over me all the time now. I thought it was sweet at first, but it can get a little overbearing.

Today is my first day back to college. I can't believe this year is my last and I will finally be done with school.

Blake caresses my cheek and my eyes flutter open. "Hey beautiful, how's my girls doing?

"Girls?" I quirk an eyebrow at him. "How are you so sure?"

"Because I want her to be just like her mama."

I think back to everything I have been through and I shudder at that thought. "Not everything Blake."

He leans in and kisses me. "Yes everything love. The good, the bad all of it. It makes you who you are today. You are the strongest woman I have ever known."

I throw my arms around him and squeeze tight. "I love you Blake Makenzie."

"I love you so damn much Riley Makenzie."

I smack him on the arm and he winces like I actually hurt him. "Hey can't blame a man for trying it out. I love the sound of it."

He rolls me over so I am on my back. "What time do you get out of class today? He moves the hair out of my face as he plays with a strand of my hair.

"I have three classes so I should be done around one."

He smiles down at me and kisses my nose. "Perfect meet me at the station afterwards."

"Sure, but what's going on?"

"I have a surprise for you."

"Really"
