Chapter 48 - Riley

I had to stay at the hospital over night for observation, by the time I was getting released Doctor Michaels informed us that he had the results to the DNA testing. He said he put a rush on it and he kept to his word and did the test himself. God bless that man because I was afraid that someone would tamper with it. I just don't know who to trust anymore, my whole world got flipped upside down.

There was a knock on my door and Doctor Michaels walks in with my so called parents. He gives me that bright smile again. He is truly one of the friendliest doctors I have ever met, besides Dr. Adams of course.

"How are we doing today?"

"Hanging in there, so what's the verdict Doc?" he chuckles at that. "Straight to the point I see." I nod my head. " Don't worry Riley, no one messed with the results. I was there the whole time." Carol looks at me with a confused expression. " Why would you be worried that someone tampered with the testing?"

" Because" I glare at her, I know it's not her fault but I am so over this shit. " Someone threatened me to get to Blake. But that's a story for a different time." Aaron gives me a stern look like a father would do and I almost giggle at that. "Most definitely." he says.

"So the results are conclusive. It shows 99.99% positive that Crystal and Aaron are your parents."

"Oh shit!"

" I knew it was true the minute I laid eyes on you." Crystal says with tears in her eyes.

This is surreal I can't believe these strangers in front of me are my real parents. My parents tell me that they want to give me time to process everything but I ask them to stay. I have lost so many years with them I don't want to lose anymore. Tears streak down my face and my lip quivers.

" I am so sorry, I doubted you." They pull me into a hug and I gladly welcome their embrace. " It's okay sweetheart we got you back." My dad says and my mom is to busy crying and I cling onto them harder.

"I hate to interrupt but none of you can stay." I look at Dr. Michaels confused and he just smirks at me. "What?!" He pats me on my shoulder as my parents move away to give him space. " Well Riley Ann Makenzie, you get to go home. Here are your discharge papers, hopefully I do not see either one of you in here for awhile. Well at least until those babies are born."

I just shake my head and his quirkiness and look at my parents. " Would you like to come over?"

"We would love to?" My mom says and I turn back to Doctor Michaels. " Thanks Doc for everything."

We leave the hospital and my parents follow us home. I turn to Blake chewing on my bottom lip. " Should I call them mom and dad, or by their names?" Blake takes my hand and rubs circles on it. " Whatever you are most comfortable with love."

" That's the problem, I just don't know."

We make it home and when we get there my mom brings in something with her. It was a baby book. She had so many pictures for a four year time span. There was even news clippings  of me being taken and other children to. But I run my hands over a picture of me holding a cat.

"Mr. Whiskers."

"How did you know the kittens name?" Aaron asks.

Does this mean I remember something? I remember a kitten , but when I asked my parents what happened to the cat when I got older. They said I never had a cat, but I had a feeling I did.

"I remember carrying a cat around everywhere. But I thought I just dreamt of it when I got older, because they said I never had one because I was allergic."

My mother has tears in her eyes and I just want to pull her into a hug. " I was so worried that he would scratch you. But I think the damn cat loved it just as much as you." She wipes the tears from her eyes. " Okay we will catch up on memories but right now discuss the matter at hand."

They tell us how Ramirez, the guns and child trafficking. Once he found out who my parents were he kidnapped me and sold me to Tom and Elaine, who I thought were my parents. When my parents stop doing his bidding, he started burning down their properties to send them a message. But it was too late and he killed them but I survived. Crystal and Aaron are worried that he might come after me to collect their debt to him.

"Why hasn't he been caught?"

Aaron pats me on the knee, " Every time someone gets close he becomes a ghost. No one has been able to find him, until he wants to be found."

Crystal, I swear I can't make up my mind what to call them. "We are being reinstated temporarily to help catch him. So at the moment, we need to keep our distance and try to keep you safe."

" I understand"

She throws her arms around me and starts crying. " Oh baby! We just got you back , we don't like this one bit. We just don't want you to get hurt." I hug her back because I just need to.

" We are going to draw him out and then if you'd like we would love to get to know you better." my dad says and I throw my arms around both of them. " I would like that very much. 

They say their goodbyes, with promises of being in touch soon, and I just pray that I don't lose them too.

I can't believe that bitch gets everything and I get nothing!. I tried to tear them apart all those years ago and that didn't even work for that long. I have been watching her life for so long that it angers me even more that she gets the guy, the friends, everything!. She took my life from me, so now I am going to take hers.

I know I need help on this, maybe Rick will help me on this, after all he is my 'brother'. I'll give him a call. He will help me, I know he will.

"Angela! What the hell is going on with you?"

"What do you mean?"

Shit now I have to come up with something and hopefully he falls for it.

I pretend to cry and hope it works. "I didn't do anything it's all lies. I-I would never do something like that. I'm a Doctor for crying out loud!" Even though I really am not a doctor, it's all fake documents. I'm just that smart to pull all the shit off.

"Cut the bullshit sis! This is me you are talking to. I've known you most of my life."

Fuck this is not working the way I wanted it to. I mean this asshole is suppose to be on my side he's my brother!

"Come on baby brother. Would I really threaten someone."

" I honestly don't know anymore. Look the police are looking for you. That's all the help you are getting from me. If you come around I will turn you in sister or not. Stalking a family and threatening someone pregnant. God you need help Angela!"

"I KNEW YOU NEVER CARED ABOUT ME!! YOU WOULD TURN YOUR OWN FAMILY OVER FOR SOMETHING THAT I DIDN'T FUCKING DO!"  I yell into the receiver.

"You getting defensive like this is telling me otherwise." he sighs and I just roll my eyes at this dumbass. "I love you Angela I do. If you are so innocent prove it! Please get some help, go into therapy, something please."

"FUCK YOU!"

I end the call, of course he would take their side. Why would it be any other way? What an asshole! I'll just have to find a way to take everything that is precious to her.

"Maybe I can start another fire to get rescued again."

No that's not going to work, I barely got out the last time. Those idiots still haven't figured out it was me all along that started those fires all those months ago.

"Maybe I should turn up the heat again. Yes that's it! Have some chaos happen. She will not know what is coming her way."

That way I can start my plan to take the bitch out. Then I can finish what I tried to start with her man all those years ago.

It's going to be one hell of a show when it all goes down.
