Chapter 54-Riley

Please say that I am waking up I cannot stand this anymore, this is pure torture. When Sam said I am crying I don't even feel that I am. 

Is that a bad sign?

I hear footsteps and then hear a familiar voice. "Let's have a look to see what is going on with our star patient."  I can feel Dr. Michaels messing around with my arms and I see a quick flash of light but then it is gone. I try so damn hard to open my eyes but I can't

"Please say this is a good sign." I hear the desperate plea in Blake's voice and it's my fault that I am causing him this pain.

"What were you talking to Riley about Blake?"

"The babies and taking them home."

Suddenly I hear continuous beeping and wondering what that means. "I see that there was a spike in her heart rate. Did you talk with Dr. Adams about bringing them in here?"

Yes! I need to see or at least hear my babies. I need to know that they are okay, even though I have heard them talk non-stop about them.

"Doc her hand just moved."

"Damn it Blake what are you waiting for. Go bring the babies in here." Sam says and I can just picture her bouncing in her seat. " This might help actually bring her back." Dr. Michaels says with excitement.

What feels like forever I hear babies crying and cooing and I just want to jump up.

"Oh Shit! I think it's working look!"

"Scotty you did not just swear in front of the babies."

"Sorry babe but her arm is moving."

Suddenly Blake's hand is on my body but then it's replaced by...by one of my babies, it has to be. My eyelids feel heavy but I do everything in my power to open my damn eyes. I blink and Blake's handsome face appears before me and I see a few tears slip down his cheeks.

"Hi" my voice does not sound like mine, it's too raspy. I look at the little boy in my arms and I blink back tears. I kiss his head, "Hi my beautiful baby Austin." I look at Blake for approval and he nods his head. "Hello Austin Michael Makenzie" 

"Okay give me baby Austin." Lendze puts her grabby hands out and I can't help but let out a small laugh.

"Love do you want to name our girl?" I shake my head, "No I want us to name them together Blake."  He hands me one of our daughters and we agreed her name to be Ashlynn Rose, which of course Sam begs to hold. When our last daughter comes into my arms, I am full blown crying because I never thought I would see any once again, let alone my husband and our babies. We finally agreed upon Savannah May.

After everyone had their fix of loving on our babies, they said their goodbyes and left Blake and I are alone with our precious babies. Once they fall back to sleep Blake puts them in their bassinets and lays down next to me and kisses my forehead.

"So good to have you back Wildfire"

"It's so damn good to be back, I just wish I didn't miss so much. I heard everything you all said but I just couldn't open my eyes." I wipe the tears from my eyes. Blake squeezes my side a little and smiles. God how have I missed that smile. 

"All that matters is that you are back wildfire." He sighs as he rests his forehead against mine, I feel his lips linger there and I close my eyes and savor this moment. When he looks at me again a single tear falls down his face but he shakes his head and wipes it away. "Now you will need some physical therapy to get your muscles back in shape after two months in a coma."

"TWO MONTHS!" I yell and then lower my voice because our babies are sleeping. " Two months, it only felt like a few days."

"I'm sorry love." he kisses my cheeks and then my lips tenderly. " But at least you are back, it was hard without you."

I feel tears in my eyes as I think about the two months, I was asleep. " I've missed out on so much with our babies."

"Well, you won't miss out on anymore." He gives me that cheeky smile that I have loved for forever. "Are you ready for that love?"

I nod my head up and down fast and have a bright smile on my face.

"Yes, I can't wait."  I sit up the best I can and Blake helps me and I look over to our three little peanut gallery. I look back at my husband and smile. "We made those beautiful little ones, it seems surreal."

Blake caresses my cheek, " It's what I have always wanted with you Ry. You remember when we were younger, I asked you what your ideal life would like when you were older." I nod my head and smile at him. "I wanted to be with you, but was so afraid Blake. But I am glad we said the hell with it and went for what we wanted."

"It's always been you Riley Ann, it will always be you." He kisses my lips and I savor this moment, because I almost wasn't here to be able to have these moments. "I love you Blake and now I love our new family as well. I have so much love for you all."

"I know what you mean. I love you so much Wildfire." He gets up and helps me lay down. " Come one love we need to get some rest. I have a feeling we are not going to be getting that for a long time."

"Yeah, but it will be so damn worth it." I yawn as I Iay down and look at our children. My eyes close slowly as my husband wraps his arms around me and now, I finally feel safe.
