The girl went inside a store, clutching her long list of things she would buy. Unbeknownst to her, two figures approached the same store, arguing about trivial things like lucky items and horoscopes.

"A necklace gift for Riko," muttered the girl as she gazed around the store.

Seeing a golden necklace at the center table, she was about to pick it up when a tall figure beat her to it. The girl scowled at the figure, tapping him on the shoulder.

"Hey, I was about to get that..."

The girl's voice faltered as she saw the figure in front of her.

"Masaka... Midorima Shintaro?"

The boy coughed, pushing his glasses up. "Aiko-san."

"Ne, Shin-chan, you know this girl?" asked the boy's companion, grinning.

"Hai. She was our former captain's ex-girlfriend."

"Huh? Akashi Seijuro had a girlfriend?"

The boy sighed. "No. It was Nijimura Shuzo-nanodayo."

The girl smiled. "I can't believe I'll meet you again. Anyway, I was about to buy that necklace – "

"I'm afraid I cannot give this to you. This is my lucky item for today." The boy pushed up his glasses. "I will not survive today without this."

"Midorima-kun, have you forgotten?" The girl grinned. "I am also a Cancer like you. So, technically, that's also my lucky item. Can I buy it then I'll just hang out with the two of you for the rest of the day?"

The boy turned pink. "I-I-If you wish so. It's not that I'm helping you or anything. I just have no choice but to do it."

The boy's companion roared with laughter. "Tsundere again, Shin-chan?"

"Urusainodayo, Takao."

And so, the girl spent the whole day with the two boys who did nothing but argue. It was an amusing sight but a day well-spent. As she walked home, she took out her phone and sent a message.

I'll tell you the details tomorrow. Haha sorry we sound like teenage girls gossiping. All I can say is I met a Miracle.

As she continued her way home, beneath the chasm of darkness, the lost girl had finally climbed up to the top. This time, with a new light to hold onto.
