Jayden's Embrace

Sometimes one needs the assurance which brings security, a trust from knowing certainty, warmth and hope. That one can find in just One Loving Embrace. By Alvin Kofi.

Jayden was always a mummy's boy. Even when he had to become man of the house. If there's anyone Jayden loves more than his mother, it's his little sister. Jasmine. That's why when he found out his mother had been diagnosed with cancer he did everything in his power to make sure they get through it. Not alone, but together.

He missed out on many things during his years as a teenager. No parties or girls. Just school and Jasmine. He dedicated his life to her and for that she is most grateful. He couldn't tell anyone about his mother's illness. He knew there was a chance he and Jasmine would have been spilt up. And he wasn't willing to take that risk.

If there was anything Jayden learnt during his years of growing up, it was trust no one.

He didn't have friends. He called everyone he knew acquaintances. These were people who would call him their time of need but not even batter an eyelid in his time of need.

However there were two people he'd once considered to be more than acquaintances.

Kyron and Amelle.

Kyron was Jayden's 'boy' back in the day. You could say they were best friends, but that would be an over statement. Well, in the eyes of Jayden anyway.

Any job they did, they did it together.

Amelle was kyron's girl best friend. She would help out with Sasha, making sure that she was fed and went to bed on time. She took her to school and picked her up on days that Jayden couldn't.

All of that changed when Jayden decided that he had made enough money to provide for both him and Jasmine. Kyron wasn't a happy bunny and Amelle soon followed suit. So Jayden was on his own again. He had to build up that barrier again and it wasn't easy.

Even though his mother had passed away he found himself building up more respect for her. He questioned how she managed to bring up two children by herself and yet still have a smile on her face. He admired and adored her for that.

Jayden had slept with girls before. Correction- Jayden had slept with hoes and sluts. None of them even came close to seeing him again. Whenever he saw Kyron taking one of their numbers he asked "why take a number of a girl that has no respect or dignity? You're just encouraging her." Kyron simply replied. "I've already fucked her, that's encouragement enough." Till this day Jayden remembers those words of a wise ex friend. Ever since he had come out of that bad life he'd had nothing but respect for women. He never talked down to a woman or made himself seem better than them and he never once spoke badly about a woman.

There were many nights Jayden cried. For himself, his mother and most of all Jasmine. He prayed that things would get better for the both of them. Every minute he spent away from jasmine he regretted.

He was disappointed on some nights when he didn't get to read her a bedtime story because he was out doing

God knows what

With God knows who

For God knows how much money.

He was disappointed when he wasn't the first thing she saw in the morning and the last thing she saw at night.

He cried on occasions when he couldn't give her things that she wanted because he had to provide the things that they needed.

One night he had found his mother in a deep sleep. A sleep he knew she would never wake from. On that same night he held her and little Jasmine in just One Loving Embrace.
