For the next two months, Jayden and Riaz had spent all their time together. They couldn’t be without each other. They were inseparable. They now came as a package. Where there was Jayden, there was Riaz. However, some people didn't like their close relationship. Some people were jealous. Jasmine, for one couldn’t stand them being together, for she thought that her only brother was being taken away from her. She felt incomplete without him. She needed her brother back.

He began to throw things in no particular direction. Things smashed and shattered. Riaz broke into tears as she watched her brother turn into a vicious monster.

She repeatedly hollered his name, hoping that he would listen to her and just take his tablets. She understood how hard this was for him.

He growled like the inhuman-being his was perceived to be when he behaved this way.

All he had to do was take his tablets.

Ice. Like his name. He looked at Riaz with that Ice cold expression he gave to her whenever he was in that state. As cold as it was, it burned through her system and broke her down. She was afraid. Afraid her brother would see pass the fact that she was his sister. She was afraid that he would harm her.

“You know whenever you need anything I’ll be there.” He spoke in his hoarse voice waving around a small bag with white powder. He dropped the bag on the coffee table. “Its all yours Cleo.” She swallowed hard as he ran his fingers through her hair. He pulled her closer to him and licked from her neck all the way up to the tip of her ear lobe. She shivered. “Just do one thing for me first.” He backed her up so that she was sandwiched between him and the wall. She refused to look into his eyes. They carried nothing but grief and pain that would easily rub off on her.

‘Don't give into him Cleo. Your soo much better than that. Think of Riaz and your baby.’ The voice in her head spoke. ‘He’ll make you weak. He’ll make you depend on him.’ She breathed heavily as he kissed and sucked on her neck. She couldn’t stop him he had this hold on her, one that she spent two years trying to break.

That night they fucked. They didn't have sex. They didn't make love, they fucked. She didn't enjoy it. But she did what she thought she had to do. She had made love before, with Riaz’ dad. He held her and stayed with her after they had finished. He was her first.

She sat in the living room and eyed the white powder on the coffee table. She ran her hand on her warm and hard stomach. Instantly she felt at ease. She closed her eyes and rested her head back on the sofa. Her nose tingled and she sniffed. She looked back to the table where the white powder lay. She reached forward to take it up but then pulled away. And then again she reached forward, this time picking it up and opening the bag. Her nose hovered the substance. She closed the bag and put it back on the table. She rubbed her hand over her stomach once more.

‘Just one last time and that's It.’ a voice whispered to her. ‘A new start after this. No more.’ She gazed at the white powder. ‘Its here now, might as well.’ She nodded as if she were talking to a real person. She picked up the bag, pouring the substance onto the table.

Riaz was all alone in a house with a boy capable of doing anything to her. She couldn’t call anyone. Aaron didn't care and she didn't want to scare Jayden off. She didn't want him to whiteness the acts of her uncontrollable teenage brother. For all he knew Ice was a golden boy.

Jayden felt this funny feeling. He knew something wasn’t right. He had felt this way before. Every time there was something wrong with Jasmine. But this time it couldn’t be Jasmine because she was sitting right opposite him on the sofa. The only other person that could come to mind was Riaz.

He sprang up from his seat. Jasmine looked over at him puzzled. “What’s wrong?” she asked concerned.

“There’s something wrong with Riaz.” Jasmine rolled her eyes. “Jasmine don’t roll your eyes. How many times do we have to have this conversation? Riaz will not get in between the both of us.” She never said anything just carried on watching the TV. Jayden sighed, knowing that there was nothing he could do to fix this, so he left.

The ride to Riaz’ was strange. He couldn’t concentrate. All that was on his mind was Riaz. What could be wrong? He questioned. He pulled up in front of her house and got out the car. He rang the bell. No answer. He rang again. Still no answer. “Riaz,” he shouted through the letter box. “Riaz, you in there?”

Riaz sat at the top of the stairs, listening in on Jayden’s worried calls. She was too scared to open the door. She didn't really like the outside world in her life. But Jayden was different. She didn't want him to judge her and her life, for he meant alot to her.

Jayden could hear things smashing and the sound of deep growling in the background. Ice. He knew that Ice had anger problems, but wasn't sure how bad they were. From the sounds of it, it sounded like they were really bad. Jayden felt helpless standing outside the door while the love of his life was inside there probably scared for her life. He knew Riaz like no other. No one apart from him had even given her the time of day to actually sit down and study everything that she did. The way she brushed her teeth to the way she combed her hair. The way she walked to the way she drove. She was Riaz. Different to anyone else he had ever met and he loved her for it.

“Riaz, babe. Come open the door.” He called softly through the letter box. He stared at her feet on the stairs and watched as they descended down them slowly. She slowly opened the door and allowed Jayden to walk in. He brought her into a hug and checked to see if she was hurt. “Are you okay? You’re not hurt are you?” she shook her head and held onto him tightly.

“I’m scared, Jayden.” She whispered. A single tear fell from her eye. Jayden quickly wiped it and held her tighter.

“I’m here now. Where is he?”

“He’s upstairs in his room. Be careful. He can be really dangerous and out of control.” Jayden nodded.

“It’s alright. Stay here.” She nodded and watched Jayden walk upstairs.

Soon nothing could be heard. She wondered if Jayden had been hurt. She wondered if she should go and check on them. She decided against it and went to sit in the kitchen.

“All you have to do is take your tablets, Ice.” Jayden stated calmly. Ice nodded. Jayden gave him the glass of water followed by two tablets. Ice put them in his mouth and swallowed some water. He sat down on his bed and placed the glass of water on the bedside table. He breathed in and out heavily. He began to feel weak and worn out. He lay back on the bed, still breathing heavily. His heavy eyelids shut close. The whole time Jayden watched him silently. He slowly left the room and went back downstairs. “Riaz?” he called out.

“Yeah, I’m in the kitchen.” Jayden walked into the kitchen, with a warm smile on his face.

“He’s sleeping now.” Riaz jumped on Jayden and kissed him. Jayden stumbled back surprised, but managed to keep the both of them up.

“Thank you so much Jayden. I don't know what I would have done without you. You’re the best!” she kissed him some more.

“Riaz, I'm always here for you. You know that?” she nodded her head and hugged him tight.

“I love you Jayden.” She whispered. Jayden heard but said nothing. What was he to say back to that? He didn't know if he loved her or not. Instead he kissed her on her forehead. She knew what it meant and she cherished it.
