𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋 𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄 :

"YOU DID WHAT?" canelle shouted over facetime. she was currently in the bahamas for a family wedding and sage had called her for their weekly catch-up.

sage had told canelle about mason's surprise visit and what they got up to. "we didn't have sex, we just... y'know..." she trailed off.

azelia was sat at the end of sage's bed, hitting her doll's head for 'not staying still.' "so you swore up and down you wouldn't get back with him—"

"i'm not! we just chilled, plus i have tammy. i think."

"so is that why he's taking you to paris tomorrow? you have no self respect fam," she mumbled while on paused. sage knew she was messaging bukayo as the two hadn't been able to talk a lot because of training and time zones.

sage was grateful she had her airpods in, so azelia couldn't hear and the surprise wasn't ruined. "we're going p-a-r-i-s for azzy, not for me. i'm going as a chaperone sort of thing."

"stop chattin' shit sage. why won't you let tammy take you paris, huh?" canelle had a point, whenever tams would offer to take her somewhere far, she would always make up excuses.

it's not that she didn't like the boy, but she just wasn't ready to take azelia anywhere too far with him yet. she also thought dumping her child off at her baby father's house while she went away was morally wrong.

"i just think i want to be alone, y'know? like tammy and i aren't moving anywhere and mason is just so extra and toxic. i don't even want a man at this point."

"so cut it off with tammy and mason then, but atleast wait until after you two come home from france to tell him. free holiday goodieee," she dragged out with a big grin.

she was about to reply but a notification from her ring doorbell cut her off. she quickly checked the app and saw it was mason at the door, tapping on the little box.

sage ended the call, promising to text canelle later and call her after she got back from paris before going to answer the door. naturally, azelia followed her like a lost puppy.

"daddy!" the toddler exclaimed when seeing her dad walk around the corner. she ran up to him and he caught her just in time, lifting her up so that they were at eye level.

"hey princess, how are you?"

azelia began explaining her day at school, having just started reception a few months ago, as mason carried her to sage's sofa.

the interior of sage's new house was mostly black, with lots of plants, low lights and floor to ceiling windows. so during the day it was really bright, and nights were extra dark.

the small family of three took their seats on the sofa with azelia on mason's lap. he needed to shower and change, but thought listening about his daughter's day was more important.

"your day was so eventful, cairo," he called her by her middle name. "how about i go shower quickly and we can watch a movie?" the toddler nodded and switched to her mother's lap instead.
