𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋 𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄 :

ANALAY SAT UPRIGHT AGAINST MASON'S headboard, staring at the football posters before her. she wasn't looking at them, per sé, just... staring. she felt like that was her new thing as of recent, just looking at things without actually looking at them.

she was pulled out of her trance when she felt a hot hand on her shoulder. looking to her side, mason was standing there with a cuppa in his right hand. he carefully handed it to her, doing his best not to spill any on the now tangled duvet.  "thank you," she sent him a weak smile.

mason brushed her off, saying it was okay, before sitting on a beanbag in the corner of his room. a blanket of silence fell upon the two, analay focused on drinking her tea, and mason looking at his old match attax cards.

he could see analay looking down, just staring at the navy blue bedsheets. reading people wasn't his strong subject, but it didn't take a professional to guess how she was feeling. you could see it in here face that she just looked... empty. "how do you feel?"

"like shit."

he nodded at the blunt answer. deciding to leave this sensitive topic alone, he quickly came up with an idea. "summer and azelia have been begging for you to come watch art attack with them, you down?" he stood up, walking to the door.

"yeah, let me just finish this first," she sent another excuse of a smile his way, watching mason walk out the door. her mind began to race. she knew about the articles, mason showed them to her last night. it wasn't the public she was worried about, it was madders.

they always agreed to ask questions before jumping to conclusions but what questions could he ask? 'why were you cuddling up to one of my best friends?' it was hard evidence that looked like analay was cheating on him.

she decided to shake the thoughts out of her head, choosing to forget about it for now. she turned off her phone, leaving it on mason's bedside table before taking her tea and making her way down the hall to the guest room.

mason was sprawled out on the bed, summer on his left and azelia on his right. the trio's eyes were concentrated on the tv, watching the presenter make something out of cardboard. analay moved in next to summer, the toddler immediately moving to lay her head on her chest. the singer swallowed the lump in her throat with her eyes trained on the tv.

"OH WOW, REAL MATURE MASON," analay rolled her eyes, brushing off the flour that covered her green jumper-dress. her hair was up in a ponytail, thankfully, so it wasn't in the way of his antics.

their day had been eventful, to say the least. since mason's sister, her husband and his parents went out for the day, he was given the task to babysit summer and azelia. of course, he tried to include analay as much as possible to make her feel better. after a while of trying, it worked.

he got her to write a list of her favourite things to do, which the group of four would knock out in a day. being the extra girl she is, she came up with the most random things possible. the list included: dressing up as dark angels, watching all the transformers movies, building lego and making cookies.

three out of the four activities were completed, so now mason and analay stood in the middle of his mum's kitchen at two in the morning, making star shaped cookies.
