𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋 𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄 :OVER THE COURSE of two weeks, most of both mason's and sage's friends and family have been helping the couple set up for azelia's birthday.
since sage had completely drowned herself in tasks to do for azelia's party, she didn't even notice her friends sneaking around to do the same for her own birthday.
mason's been doing his best to keep on top of everything and to make sure it wasn't obvious that he was doing something in secret. everyone in their friend group had a set task to ensure azelia's party run smoothly. everything was more or less finished except one of the most crucial elements of a birthday; presents.
so sage and mason sat together on a beanbag at mason's house, scrolling and flicking through various websites and catalogs to try and find the perfect present for their daughter's 6th.
they've already gone through most of the kid's section in basic shops like claire's, next and new look. mason has gone through both the smyths and toys R us booklet four times over. they couldn't find anything.
"i give up. buying for girls is so fucking hard," sage whined as she threw her head back onto mason's chest. he chuckled at his girlfriend's frustration, caressing her arm in hopes of calming her down a little.
"well she did say she wanted a little brother..."
"well then she'll have to ask kennedy and christian, no more coming from me love." mason huffed and moved to face sage fully. "we need ideas mase, what does she really want?"
"she likes my necklace a lot? the pearl one. do you remember where you got it from?"
"portobello but we won't have any time to go. azelia comes back from kole's tomorrow, then it's back to school an—"
"let's go now then," mason suggested. he gave sage no time to answer as he carefully moved from underneath her to go upstairs. he returned a minute or two later with his grey jordans and a black canada goose jacket. "c'mon up!"
sage rolled her eyes but smiled nonetheless. she pushed herself off the beanbag and went over to the front door, where her own grey jordans and matching coat sat. she slipped on the shoes and threw the jacket over her white crop top before calling mason to let him know she was ready to go.
he scoffed upon seeing her outfit, which was basically identical to his own. "stop stealing my fits, yeah?"
"and let's tell all your fan girls i'm the reason you don't wear that one recycled trackie every day, yeah?" she threw back in a sarcastic voice. when he didn't reply, she pecked his lips and took his car keys to lock the door.
THE TWO HAVE BEEN walking around portobello road for around fifty minutes and so far they've bought; the pearl necklace they went out for, a couple of vintage fairytale books, a mini black obsidian bracelet and an old NFL jersey for mason.
instead of driving, they decided on getting the tube to recreate one of their old dates from school days, which they both remembered like it was yesterday.
the day would usually start off with mason absolutely terrified while on his way to pick up sage from her home. he would knock on the door, faced with both of her brothers. there would be rare occasions that her god brothers were there too, waiting to scare the footballer to death.
