Sage sighed, bored out of her mind. all of her children were gone, since they decided they wanted to spend the day with their aunts and uncles. bukayo and jadon had taken azelia go karting - much to sage's distaste. azari had gone with kennedy and christian to a museum in london, while the twins were with elio and kai.
so, sage and mason were alone for the day. except mason immediately hopped onto the game, wanting to film for his new gaming channel he recently created with declan. with it only being two weeks old, the duo had already gained one million subscribers - and sage couldn't be more proud of her husband.
except, on days like this that they finally got to spend alone, was instead spent filming videos. however, sage wanted to be supportive of mason. so instead of pulling him away from his game, she opted for scrolling through tiktok, instead.
her 'for you' page was filled with a bunch of different videos. they were mostly hair care and fashion tips; with a few videos about mason and chelsea in there too. after scrolling for a little while, she came across a video of a lady testing her husband by putting her hand in front of him to see what he would do.
and suddenly, sage had an idea. she thought it was best to do it now, since he was playing computer and she could test who was more important to him.
the brownskinned girl jogged up the stairs quietly while recording on her camera app. she made her way to mason's gaming room and knocked lightly. "come in!" she heard him call from behind the door. to sage's surpise, mason was streaming instead of recording. she knew mason preferred to record since streaming would go on way too long - but she assumed declan convinced him otherwise.
"hi my love," mason smiled up at his wife as he quickly glanced away from the game. he was playing call of duty (of course), which required him to have his attention fully focused at all times.
his stream chat was going crazy, even more so than usual. mason was ultimately convinced that his fans adored sage more than him. the thousands of viewers begged her to say something, so she waved and asked how they were doing.
after a quick chat, sage put her tiktok into motion. she stood behind mason with her right hand out. he didn't notice at first, with being too engrossed in the game and whatnot. but after he died, he looked to see if sage was still there and found her hand reaching out expectantly.
the footballer grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it, before putting it around his shoulder and turning back to his game. the stream chat blew up at the affectionate encounter. most people pointed out the blush that coated both of their cheeks while others were asking for screen recordings of the clip.
sage eventually removed her hand and put it back in it's previous place. mason payed no attention for a little while, until his chat kept telling the footballer to turn around.
he finally noticed the phone filming him, knowing it was for some tiktok video. mason rolled his eyes and pulled out his wallet, moving to pull out his black card, but decided on giving her the whole thing instead.
before giving her the wallet, he looked her in her eyes; "what do you wanna buy?" he questioned. the stream chat was moving a mile a minute, everyone shocked at how easily he handed over all of his money.
"my selfridges cart, duh," she said as it was the most obvious thing in the world. mason nodded as if it was nothing, handing the wallet over and turning back to his game.
"buy the kids some more essentials hoodies too, love." sage nodded at his request and gave him a quick kiss before leaving him alone.
after editing the video and posting it onto tiktok, sage sat back on the sofa. of course she wasn't going to spend his money on expensive clothes, she had her own money for that.
mason came downstairs two hours later, immediately falling on top of his wife. "did you buy your things, baby?" he asked.
"no, it was just for a tiktok.." sage sighed in contentment, her eyes fluttering shut. mason hummed, and reminded her that, whenever she needed, she could spend his money however she wished.
sage nodded silently, basking in the rare silence of their home. all of a sudden, mason broke the silence, muttering, "i love you," while peppering soft, innocent kisses on her chest. mason absolutely adored sage's chest - and not just sexually.
her chest was the one place he truly felt himself, listening to the perfect beat of her heart while he drifted in and out of sleep was one feeling he would never forget. inside her chest housed the heart that fed and grew their four beautiful children for nine months. her chest protected the heart that he knew belonged to him, a heart that he will savour and love until his last breath.
