Chapter 8

While Quinn and I were catching up with each other, I heard a noise coming from outside and told her to be quiet for a minute. "I'm gonna go see what that was, stay here." I said as I walked over to the window, looking in all directions to make sure it was okay for me to jump down. I nodded to myself implying that I could jump down onto the street. I walked up the road for a while, but there was nothing there, so I walked back towards Quinn's house and back up to the window.
"It was nothing, probably just an animal or something." I said as I came back in.

It was a few hours later, around 10:30pm, and the noise happened again. Quinn was asleep, meaning that she didn't hear anything, so I slowly and quietly climbed out the window and jumped down onto the street. I stood there for what seemed like an hour and heard the scampering of whatever animal it was, and then I saw it. It kind of looked like a dog but it was bigger and more fierce than anything I've ever seen.
I slowly retreated in the direction of the house, then once I was out of sight, I sped off into the night and returned to the mansion to find Raphael and tell him everything that happened tonight.

I found Raphael and told him everything that happened that evening. Then he told me I never thought would actually happen. "What you heard and saw today was a werewolf, us vampires don't necessarily get along very well, but we tolerate them enough. I hope your friend didn't see it." This had me shaken up at the thought of a pack living so close to Quinn, which caused me to freeze up. Raphael noticed.
"Hey, are you okay?" He asked. I just nodded trying to hide the fact that I had to get someone to keep her safe. I didn't know what I was going to do or how I was going to do anything. So, all I did was I thanked Raf ('he'll learn to like it.') and left to find the only person that I wanted to talk to right now. Charlie. I got into my head and tried to hear her voice, but it wasn't in the house. She was probably outside in the garden. So, that's where I went.

As I made my way into the garden, I grabbed myself and Charlie a blood bag from the fridge in one of the two kitchens. "Charlie, I need to talk to you. It's an emergency." She saw me approaching with a worried look on her face and sat me down over on the far end of the garden. She told me to take a breath before telling her everything that happened. I told her every little detail including my feelings for Quinn as she would understand that and by the time I had finished I said "I really don't know how to keep her safe in case one of them does get to her or she gets hurt or.."
"Hey hey hey, calm down. I'm sure we can get some friends of yours to check up on her when you're not there or they could take her on a week long holiday." Charlie said, trying her best to make me feel better. It wasn't working though.

I got up from the bench and run up to my room to clear my head and maybe text my friends to see her every so often during the day. 'Yeah, I think that's what I'll do. Hopefully Quinn won't mind having more company. And that she won't hate me after all this.'
I grabbed my phone from the bedside table and started texting everyone to see if they could go see Quinn. Obviously, I couldn't tell them why they needed to do this as it would out me as a vampire. I had just finished texting all my friends and they agreed to go see her because they knew how important she is to me. I sent them her address and then texted Quinn to let her know that she's going to have some company today. And I promised her I'd come over at the usual time.

I finally felt like a weight had been lifted off my chest as I knew she was going to be safe.

Chapter 8 is FINALLY finished lol and with a bit of a cliffhanger. What'd y'all think is going to happen next?
This chapter took me waaaaay longer to write bc ✨writer's block✨ but yeah, I hope it's okay and that y'all liked it!
